    Shocks

Quick question for the brain trust.
My 2004 S/4 Avant currently has 100500 on her.
Since I've not had the opportunity to drive her, only ride as a passenger. It currently rides ruff.
It seems as though it's riding off the springs.
With 105K, I think it's time for a new set of shocks.
My thoughts are to get another set of factory ...any good source for them? Thanks for your input.

Push down on the fenders and rear quarter panels hard. If the body goes down noticeably and then come ms back up then you probably need shocks.

I like Bilstein shocks and other people have gotten Konis. The OEM shocks are like twice as much and they are just normal Sachs shocks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of fender procedure. How about simply miles? Good info on the OEM manufacturer. I've used Bilstein on my Civic, looks like that's my first choice.

+1 for Koni Yellows or Bilstein struts over OE.

I would say that by 70-80K miles usually the shocks are worn out.

Sachs and Monroe shocks are only warrantied for 50K miles if you buy them at an auto parts store. That is oddly enough how long the limited new car warranty is from Audi. Sometimes I have to wonder if Audi intentionally designs certain things to fall apart as soon as the warranty is over

I am at 183k on what appear to be stock shocks
    Changing them next weekend though.
Going with bilstein b4 (listed as OE equivalents). I dont need anything too crazy since I don't track the car. They are half the price of the b8s.
