You can place your car or to items and it allows you to track those items. It works on bluetooth for short distances and networks with other "tile" users for longer distances. The more people that have it the more effective it is as it networks with other devices. I am posting this in hope that everyone buys this so that we can have a strong network and easily locate cars, pets or other items.

This is not a GPS so it does not consume a lot of power. It lasts for a year and they send you a reminder in 11 months to get a new one so that it is always working

There are 4 million + users already and its growing. You can see some sample maps here:

    https://www.thetileapp.com/maps

You can put them in your cars to locate them in parking lots or on expensive items in case they are lost or stolen. Read more about it at
    https://www.thetileapp.com

I do not work for this company or have any interest in this company outside of the fact that I see it as a great product
I feel for $25.00 this is a great item! You can get it on amazon too and get the 30% off 4 deal there and free shipping

Pretty cool device only downfall is the battery is not replaceable. And only lasts 1 year.

I agree, but 25 bucks a year seems pretty inexpensive. I'm getting one for my dog too

That's just crazy talk. How's a dog going to know how to sync bluetooth up to a cellphone?

Your dog doesn't know how to do that?

"the average person misplaces upwards of 3,000 items a year, and then spends another 60 hours a year searching for them"

LOL...Really, who are these people? Eight items per day, every day? We are nearly 25% into 2016 and I've misplaced nothing...I guess I have some serious catching up to do.

    Lol.

Trackr is identical. Sold at BestBuy too. Tile is sold at the Apple store:
    http://recode.net/2015/04/01/trackr-...ound-face-off/

I got Trackr over a year ago - battery on this was replaceable with a 2032 watch battery or something. It worked somewhat - tho it took forever to locate sometimes. It needs other mobile devices or wifi access points nearby to use its bluetooth beacon "crowd-GPS" abilities to work.

So if its underground or in the middle of a field it may not help anyone really.

    But heck its under $30!

About 2 years ago i bought the Garmin GTU10 http://www8.garmin.com/followme/
    - much pricier i think $300 as it uses a cellphone network and GPS. First year of service is free, then its like $100/year i think after that using At&t in the USA and Rogers network here in Canada. It works quite well and is well built. I place it on my drones when I fly them in case i loose control and have issues tracking it down later.

I suppose this is small enough to stash in your glove box all year long and simply needs a USB cable to charge with.

How long does the battery last on that Garmin GTU 10? And are you sure it still works as intended? I looked into one of those and saw this on their site:
