Hey guys and gals. Just picked up my first Audi but 34th (?) German car, a 2002 A4 3.0 Quattro 6-speed. I unfortunately had to sell my AMG wagon in order to help upgrade my home, but have enjoyed this car so far. I picked it up two weeks ago for $3,100 off of Craigslist, which I thought was a great deal, considering it's a two-owner, 135k mile car, needing only lower control arm bushings and a window regulator. I spent two days detailing it, cleaning the interior a bit and got to modding.

Most noticeable is the 19x8.5 Savini BM9 wheels in Brushed Red finish with Michelin PSS tires. I previously had these on a MK6 GLI, so 15mm spacers were needed to get the wheels flush with the fender. A set of H&R lowering springs on previously-installed KYB shocks and B5 lower perches (thanks Audizine!) brought it a little lower, but still comfortable enough for DD duty. I purchased a cheap honeycomb grille off of eBay and modified the rings to sit flush against the grille. I also sanded the rings and lower grille surround to appear brushed, as I personally don't care for chrome. 20% tint and a JVC double DIN round out the mods for now, with an OBX exhaust due in sometime soon.

I rarely keep cars longer than a few months but with the new home purchase will hopefully keep this one around for a bit. Thanks for looking and thanks for a very active and informative board for an Audi newb to learn on!

    Pics, enjoy!!!

And just because I know you'll ask, the AMG wagon:

    And my wife's DD:

Money. Needed a larger down payment for a house and had a lot of equity in the AMG. I still have the S210 that my wife drives and hauls the kids around in.

Those Benz's look amazing, especially your wife's-must be the bronze rims that I like lol. brings back good memories of my buddies Benz.

Onto the Audi. What I'd do from there is paint the lower side skirts the same brilliant black color as the car and the red rims will really pop out ...and plasti dip the chrome on the lower middle grill OR might as well get the USP lower valence for front bumper.

    Happy modding :)

Ha, thanks! I've had my fair share of pretty badass cars (mostly pre-kids, LOL) but have enjoyed the Hell out of this thing. And thanks for the recommendation on the plastic, it's been driving me crazy as it really cheapens the look of the car.

    Thanks! ^^^

Small update: spent another couple of hours on the paint as I wasn't happy with the results after two weeks so I used some cleaner wax and it came out very well:

Finally, took the recommendation of jpull and plasti-dipped the lower chrome surround:

Up next is either some USP bits to cover the grey or if not simply painting them to match. I'll at least get a decklid spoiler as the rear of the car looks unfinished to me. Thanks for looking!

Right, so the red looked great on my MK6 GLI with it being newer/all one color, but I never got excited about them on the much more conservative lines of the B6. So I remedied that with a fresh set of Rotiform BLQ's and am happy with the result:

Where did you find that old style BLQ? They discontinued them a while back. I ask because although I like the new BLQ more, I like the old IND more than the new twist version. Would you happen to know if they have any old style IND where you got them ?

I manage a wheel shop so found them at my local distributor. Got them for a nice deal, too. 😎

ESM wheels make a replica of them. Not perfect, but pretty close to the old IND's.

Would have preferred another wagon but this thing was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. We'll use the S210 when we really need the room.

    Lowers are being painted soon!

And I'm 36. My wife and I have a "problem." Pre kids we went a little bonkers but have tried to slow down here recently.

We've had 22 BMWs including four race cars, three VW's, five MB's and one Audi. So, yeah, I was off by a few, just guess in the OP. :)

And yeah, the AMG was pretty silly.

Just installed this. $35 on eBay, shipped and painted. Left it on top of the car for two hours so it became more flexible, taped it to the trunk for another hour to memorize the shape, then installed with provided double-sided tape. Pleased so far, we'll see after a day what it looks like!
