    Tip Transmission Leak Question

'06 B7 S4, 105k, just had oil changed at dealership and they said I have a transmission fluid leak, but another visit required to pinpoint, clean things up, look, etc. I haven't crawled under car yet, but I think I can see the area that is oily around the back/bottom of the transmission pan.

Any opinions on how likely this is pan gasket versus say a seal that requires pulling the transmission? Car is driving fine, but I have noticed the odd transmission slip getting off and back on the gas again quickly, perhaps. No fault codes being thrown, but not sure low fluid would generate fault codes? Not so easy to check the fluid level, I guess, and don't want to damage anything. Given age of car I am inclined to take it to an indy shop (anyone know a good one in Westchester/Fairfield?) and let them do a transmission fluid/filter change, and have them take a close look at things as they do that?

It might be leaking from the pan, get under the car clean it up with brake cleaner drive for few days and check again where its leaking. If its low on fluid it will act weird. It might be leaking from cooler hoses too.
