    Strange problem with brake lights

So this has happened twice in the last week or so. I have an 04 S4 Base (about 130k miles), I parked my car outside overnight and when I got back to it in the morning, my brake lights (as well as the third brake light) were on. At first I thought I'd left my lights on, so I looked inside and realized that no I had not left my headlights on. I turned the knob to switch on my headlights and then turned them off again, went around back and saw that my rear lights were still on. That's when I saw the third brake light was lit so I pumped the brake pedal and that's when the lights went out. On both occasions this has happened, it has been relatively cold outside (about 40-45 F which is cold for Texas) so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I have never seen it before, and it hasn't happened (yet) when I've parked in an underground lot overnight. What could it be? Brake switch?

"Are you actually asking that question.. Just don't even post on my thread. why do I need to lie on an Audi forum about me fucking two bitches at once. (not literally) yes i did, you are late to the party.
and this thread has ran out of gas. I just wanted to tell people about my experience I had 2 nights ago and felt like sharing it with my fellow B6'ers. And I thank the people who didn't hate."

Pretty common issue. Brake light switch failure. No adjustment provision on the B6. It may still work intermittently and can set a DTC in the ABS control module if it happens to short to turn on the brake lights while you are driving. The Mark 4 Jettas had the same issue.
