Comes when going very slowly. Sometimes when turning wheel left and right, sometimes when simply going straight and slow.

    Any ideas?

Possibly the power steering pump, giving low pressure.

Drive to a parking lot with a friend. Have your friend stand in the parking lot and drive by him trying to reproduce the noise with both sides of the car. Maybe your friend can pin point the noise if its coming from the front or rear of the car and what side of the car. If the parking lot is wide open and the noise happens slow enough drive with the hood open past your friend and see what he thinks.

Yes, sorry. I should have mentioned that.

...and it's "moaning sound." Damn autocorrect.

Vibration comes through the steering wheel pretty noticeably when the sound occurs.

Is it coming from the front of the car?

I've never really noticed this. But, I changed my oil last weekend and after buttoning everything back up I had my car running on so I could verify the oil level was good and that nothing was squirting out of the oil filter cap. While I was doing that something "kicked in" and produced, what I would call, a groan that was pretty load. I don't know all the components of the car, but it reminded me of when a clutch engages for a fan or something. Obviously, we have electric fans, so that isn't it, but something similar. Not sure if that's what you are experiencing, but I don't notice while driving, so maybe something different.

Could it be the normal Quattro noise you get when turning at low speeds? I know personally coming to an Audi for the first time and and first AWD car this was weird to me.

Nothing about it feels normal. It's a harsh groan with vibration that comes through the steering wheel.

It's normal I hope because mine does it as well. I think it's from all the tires moving and changing direction rather than just the front wheels just guiding and rear wheels pushing.

Can you take it into the dealer since it's still under warranty?
