So I may have screwed myself tonight trying to troubleshoot using VCDS.
I was troubleshooting a code in VCDS below:
17887 - Brake Boost Vacuum System
P1479 - 35-10 - Mechanical Failure - Intermittent
I tried to do the below in quotations (could not get group 8 to be valid?) but may have clicked on something or messed something up?
"Check Brake Boost Vacuum Pump
check if blade wheel (rotor) is stuck
Perform Output Test
Perform Short Trip in Basic Settings. Group 008 is commonly the self test for this system and may be activated Key On, Engine Off. If needed activate basic settings using [On/Off/Next] and pump the brake pedal."
Now when I start my car the ABS and the Traction control light is constant on and the brake light flashses while driving and I have this code below:
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 8D0-907-389.lbl
Part No: 4Z7 907 389 A
Component: ABS/ESP allrad D66
Coding: 06497
Shop #: WSC 02334
VCID: 4A9B24877620F56EC3-5140
2 Faults Found:
01542 - Yaw Rate Sensor (G202)
27-10 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
01486 - System Function Test Activated
35-00 - -
From what I quickly read it points to maybe ABS sensor/unit but I don't see it magically going out while going thru VCDS tonight.
Is there a test or calibration I need to do to clear this up?
Also back to my main issues before I broke stuff. After I brake hard and upon release of pedal there is a steady whooshing sound any thoughts? Brakes seem to work well, brake firms up prior to startup but immediately softens.
Thanks in advance!
*Edit*
Looks like I put my car into some kind of ABS Systems functions test. Anyone done this on an Allroad before? Youtube shows other cars where some lights go off when the brake is pressed to show you can start the test. (drive straight to approx 13 mph and then turn >90 degrees <180 degrees at that speed til light goes out). Tried circles but must be doing something wrong and the police showed up so I gave up.
Interstingly enough despite being in this mode with all the dash lights the cruise control still works.
