    brembo front caliper ; same on 2.0 and 3.0 ?

    Hey guys, looking at the b8.5 Q5, is the front caliper the same brembo caliper despite the different size in rotor ?

    They are both 4 piston front calipers that use the same brake pad. If that answers your question :D

    So I suppose then they are in fact the same, just 2 different size of rotor... Not sure why audi would do that, just cost more to produce 2 set of rotor than just one lol.

    According to Audi catalog are not the same

    Front Brake Caliper Q5 - 320X30MM
    Left:8R0615107F - (old s/n 8R0615107D)
    Right:8R0615108F - (old s/n 8R0615108D)

    Front Brake Caliper Q5, A6, A7 - 345X30MM
    Left: 8R0615107G - (old s/n 8R0615107A)
    Right:8R0615108G - (old s/n 8R0615108A)

    Yeah I'm with you - but they probably sell 90% + non 3.0 around the world and use those same rotors on other cars so it might actually make sense from a cost perspective. I've actually seen some 3.0s in the lower trim levels with the smaller calipers as well.

    Btw, the calipers have the 'carriers' built-in, so you can't just replace a carrier to run the larger rotors unfortunately.

    thanks for the link !! it's now very easy to spot... if it has a hole its 345mm.. if it doesn't have a hole between the 2 mounting point, it's a 320mm ! :)
