    Hey gang,

Does the lower pan on a 2.7t have a gasket? Or is it just copper sealant?

Just sealant. You can't buy the original gasket audi used. They don't sell it. Bentley says use silicone based sealant.

I used Reinzosil for it. Never had any leaks.

I used this stuff and it's OEM. Used it on my rear main seal as well. It's not cheap but works.

I believe that oil pan gasket is only for the following cars listed below. I am also curious if it fits the 2.7T?

    Audi A4 B5 2.8L V6 12v
    Audi A4 B5 2.8L V6 30v
    Audi A6 C5 2.8L V6
    Volkswagen Passat B5 V6

If the 2.8 v6 30v lower oil pan has the same bolt pattern as the 2.7t then it will fit, but that I'm not sure about.

Not yet. I did hold it up to the old one though and they are identical.

I just pulled the metal gasket from a 2003 BEL 2.7T I'm installing in a project car. I will re-seal the lower oil pan with the silicon sealant (D176404M2).

Do you want to use a $15 gasket or a tube of $7 sealant?
