Best suspension mods for track use

Hey guys! I plan on taking the rs4 to the track this summer and wanted to focus on improving the handling. I have upgraded the suspension to the KW V3s and plan on getting it corner balanced in a few weeks. What other suspension mods do you guys recommend to help with the understeer. I was looking into a bigger rear sway bar and possibly adjustable upper control arms to help dial everything in. Just looking for some recommendations to make my casual track days more enjoyable.

Don't know what other mods you have, I'm using tapatalk.

Do the rear sway bar for sure. Better brake pads and fluid. Short shifter. Sticky tires. That would probably make it fun going at 9/10.

How many kms do you have?? I ask because my front control arm bushings were shot so the car had this floaty feel in the front. Feels so much better now after replacing them.

Definitely upgrade both sways or at least the rear. You might want to consider an LSD if you're really seriously tracking and want to cut down on understeer. Upgrade all your mounts (tranny, diff, engine), that really helps to tighten things up on the track. Adjustable upper control arms. Highly recommend 034 for all these parts. Go with PSS rubber. Carbotech pads for true track pads or StopTech if you want to keep it street and track ready. Hi temp brake fluid such as Motul. Have fun!!!!

Do not forget to do the High temp brake fluid. Really. Not kidding. Do it. I boiled my stock fluid on the track last year and it scared the hell out of me. Having the brake pedal go to the floor when you are doing 125 at the end of a straight is life changing. I went with Motul RBF 660.

A rear differential, better brake fluid and pads to start off transforming the car. I have the Hotchkiss sway bars and ohlins which are on par with the v3. In the future I plan to change rotors to something better but waiting for mine to die. I have seen the alcon rotors and JHM used the most.

Also, don't be tempted to rip out back seats and things like that, it makes the bias worse and makes the car not rotate at all, barely does to begin with.

I dunno, taking the back seats out and going with a lighter battery along with rear sway bar definitely helped the rotation. My problem recently was moving to the KW HAS springs which are apparently softer and gave me more understeer again. Definitely going to be removing the back seats for next weekend's Audi SoCal HPDE event.

Well yes, but the cheaper kits aren't made anymore. If I didn't have a local ohlins service center I would have switched to kw v3. The ttx kits are dreamy, but $6k.

My RS4 is getting Bilstein PSS9 Coilover's installed, as we speak. I consulted with multiple Audi mechanics who track and was consistently told this was the single best upgrade for handling.

Can't really corner balance the RS so I'd probably say don't even bother. Basically just have to accept the car for what it is. I saw numbers on my friends car which has race seats and a half cage. Rear seats completely removed

    Front 1212 1209
    Rear 855 714

I recently picked up a 2011 A5 fully built race car with a 2l T and even that has pretty poor balance compared to my e36. Basically have to compensate with car setup. It will take some time to get to the driving level where these things really start to matter so I'd say just enjoy for now!
