Is there an adapter to retain my factory XM antenna?

Think I'm replacing the RNS-E and would like to keep the factory XM antenna, is there an adapter in order to utilize it?

I am pretty sure there is no separate antenna for XM that goes into the RNS-E. The signal for the module is built into the harness. The antenna is the sharkfin which goes into the module and no where else. I could be wrong though.

the FM and XM antenna won't be using the same wire, they are vastly different frequencies and technologies - and the tuning of that antenna will be very different - it absolutely could be part of the harness though, that part you're most certainly right about, but I would bet that the XM portion of the antenna terminates somewhere first like an XM module... I just am not sure where that module is.

In my B6 S4, the XM module was in the trunk on the drivers side behind a panel which had the RNS-D DVD drive. When I did an RNS-E upgrade, there was no antenna wire to bother with at the RNS-E side as the "signal" was carried in the wire harness once decoded by the module in the trunk. However, I did have to upgrade the XM module as the early ones did not play nice with the RNS-E - can't remember the exact thing but I think it only allowed the Preview channel to play.

So you still have an XM module in the trunk then right? just a newer one to work with the RNS-E? - The antenna for the XM should be connected to that module and only data should be transmitted to the RNS-E

The XM module is on the left side of the trunk, there are two antenna wires I believe that plug into it and 2 or 3 plugs. I do know that the CD changer and module are connected somehow because my CD Changer doesn't play sound ever since I unplugged my module.
