hey guys I just did a VCDS fuel gauge adjustment. I noticed the car can get more miles even after the fuel estimator hits "0" miles on the DIS.
I am able to adjust it an extra 10 degrees of more fuel on the round gauge. the estimator is automatic and will respond to that.
long term I don't know what it will do yet but in the mean time I am testing to see what it does..
also I noticed that when the 19inch wheels are a little lower on the psi, the actual miles per gal goes down a lot. during our bit of cold weather I forgot to check up on the tires and the 5psi it dropped lowered the miles we are able to attain. I prefer the higher end of the spectrum without going beyond the max psi on the tires.
ill update this once I see how many miles on a toped off tank of fuel will do till the estimator gauge hits "0" miles this time around.
if you guys have a ross tech cable you too can adjust it to offset real metering.
