    CTS Turbo or Forge Intake

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
About to order an intake for my car,

Cant decide if I want to do an open filter or enclosed filter. The two I am deciding between is the CTS Turbo intake and the Forge Motorsports CF intake.

Anyone have experience with these and how do you like them?

I didn't go with CTS, but I chose the Neuspeed open intake. I love the sound, and honestly the Forge didn't seem to be worth the investment for me since I don't plan on keeping the vehicle beyond my Lease.

From what I understand, the Forge intake seems to deliver the most consistent power increase, but may impact cooling since it takes up some of the other air flow space from the engine.

A sealed intake is usually going to be less affected by heat soak, but you really would only notice that on a track or dragstrip.

CTS Turbo intake is what we prefer. Have run it on our S3 for a while

Open intake will sound slightly better. I am getting a K&N open intake. I have one on my GTI as well and have been very happy with it.

If live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot and have been hesitant to go with an open air I take. Should I be concerned?

No concern unless you take your car through deep amount of water.

Just replaced the ROC Euro open filter with the INJEN closed unit - much cleaner look , engine compartment looks finished now. Similar to VW Racing but less $'s - quality is outstanding !Closed is way to go and IMHO the INJEN unit is best bang for the buck.
