Best place to buy brake calipers/rotors/pads?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am upgrading the brakes on my 04 USP 1.8T, I need new rotors/pads anyways, so might as well spend the money wisely.

I am going for B6/B7 S4 front brakes, and B7 A4 rears. Or will the B6/B7 S4 rear calipers fit with the stock E-brake cables? Is it a pain to get the cables to fit?

From Rock Auto I can get front S4 calipers, OEM remans by Cardone or Centric (used both before many times, good as original) for $75.00 + shipping. (CDN prices). $42 core cost. Power stops (powder coated Red) are $82 each, $42 core.

-Rear S4 calipers run $88 each, with a $106 core cost.
-Rear B7 A4 calipers run $81 each, $98 core cost.

Is there any direct bolt on brake kits For B6's?

your gonna need mounting brackets for both a4 or s4 calipers, I dont think they are included in the A1cardon price.
you will be more than happy with the S4 front brakes and b7 a4 rear combination, ebrake will work also

I really like the ecs tuning Geomet slotted rotors, had them over a year and no rust and they are holding up well. for pads I run hawk hps, low dust and great bite

the parts you listed are a direct bolt on. I run B6 S4 fronts and B7 A4 rears all of which were low mile take offs. I got Centric rotors and Wagner thermoquiet pads from Rockauto. Call around to some local wreckers, they might have some low mile cars there and sell you the calipers for cheap. You could also do B7 A4 brakes all around since the rotors aren't that much smaller in the front compared to the S4 and probably not have to pay the "S4 tax"

Yea I know they are direct bolt on, my only concern is how tight is the Ebrake cable with the S4 rear calipers. Im in northern Ontario, not alot around. Only S4 I could find he wanted $500 for the 4 calipers and brackets, 210K original used. Not much for B7 A4 / S4 parts around here.

The B7 A4 calipers are the same as the B7 S4 calipers, just with a different mounting bracket allowing the use of larger rotors. ECS sells the bracket as an upgrade to the B7 A4 guys.

Think there would be an issue with returning A4 cores for S4 calipers/brackets?

I called a while ago (3 years?) about that B6 A4 for B6 S4 calipers and they would not accept them. It needs to be the same caliper.

I'm in Canada too and I picked up a full set of used B7 brakes with carriers and dust shields. I will be rebuilding them and hope to find quality OEM seals etc. Not sure if the dealers carry those. Then I plan to get these from Rock Auto:
    - Centric High Carbon Alloy rotors
    - StopTech Street Performance brake pads
    - StopTech Stainless Steel lines
This kit from RockAuto is $467 plus shipping (almost another $100) plus taxes.
They also sell this Power Stop kit for the same price: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....849&cc=1434142
I'm not too keen on drilled & slotted rotors. I would like slotted only, but this is a daily driver and will not see any track duty, so blanks are just fine.

Hope this helps in your search and do post back on what you decide to get.
