    Extended warranty

I have a 2013 and the warranty ends in July. The dealership told me it will be cheaper if I get it before the warranty ends (which makes sense). Is that a good option? If you get one after the original warranty ends does the dealership just use a third-party as well?

bought one from the finance manager at st paul audi, she specifically said that fidelity is a pain in the ass to deal with, sold me the zurich plan. im covered for 36 months or to 100k whatever comes first...

my car is 2011 and i bought it before factory warranty expiration, like 2 days before LOL, but yes most places will hit you over the head price wise if you dont buy it before expiration of factory warranty.

With an extended warranty can you mod without worrying about voiding warranty?

I'm in Arizona but do you mind telling us a ballpark of your cost?

    Nope.

These cars have proven to be very reliable. For what an extended warranty costs I'd rather hold the cash and spend it on repairs if needed...
Plus - with how difficult some of these aftermarket warranty companies are to work with and the amount of mods on my car the odds are not in my favor for having claims honored. Don't forget also - most of these warranties come with deductibles...

I don't have fidelity but a quick search shows their reviews are not good.

It will say right in the policy that aftermarket modifications that cause a covered part to fail will result in claim denial. So, it's really up to you if you want to play with fire. That being said, most independent shops won't know what to look for, and you will probably be ok. But there's always the chance that the warranty administrator will require an inspection of the car prior to claim approval. They also have the right to do that.

Can you provide some more detail on this? I've been looking into this for some time and their platinum coverage is an exclusionary warranty. There is also a negative bias if you just google search for reviews.

I am debating what level of coverage to get before my original warranty expires later this year

most of the negative reviews are because people dont know how to read the contracts and expect wear items to be covered, also people dont go on the internet to speak about the good experiences mostly just the bad...

with that said im pretty sure that most of the audis that are bought used and have cpo extended warranty are thru the fidelity plans, so talk to people who have cpo cars and or if they had any repairs and what that was like.

I got a Zurich plan through where I work and have a good experience with the claims process. No issues at all. Prices depend on mileage and terms and are much cheaper if you are within your factory warranty as stated before. As far as mods go, just be aware. I'm would not be afraid of making a claim which a tune but I would not go my local Audi dealer after the factory warranty expired either as they are NOT at all mod friendly. If your are interested in prices and more info PM me.
