35K Maintenance Cost/Recommendations

Hi folks,

New member to the forum! I picked up a 2013 S4 last Friday, and it's been a fun car so far...it is due for the 35K maintenance and I just got quoted $1716 for it. Seems like a lot for an oil change, DCT fluid change, lube and air filter changes. Does anyone have any recommendations for an indie shop or how to get the cost down? Oil changes and air filter replacements, I can do myself....but the DCT is the one that I don't think I could.

Is AudiCare actually worth it?

Where are you located? Audi Care is worth it for that service alone. Almost everyone with DSG gets Audi Care for this reason. Try NGP for that, should be close to you.

You could buy Audi care from the dealer and get the 35k & 45k for $851

Yeah it is worth it to get Audi Care for a S-tronic/DSG B8/8.5 S4.

Just the transmission fluid/filter/gasket/plugs parts kit is listed at $385.93 on ECStuning.com. https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_S4...ion/ES2550884/

When you add in the other stuff that you would get out of Audi Care for the remaining services (35K and 45K) it makes even more sense to get Audi Care. In effect you are getting the following, in addition to the transmission service, over those services: 14 quarts of engine oil, two engine oil filters, a pollen/cabin air filter, brake fluid flush, and labor.

EDIT: Did you have a BMW before? I just ask because DCT is much more common with BMWs. If so what did you have?

I didn't. I was searching for an M3 for a long time and got used to calling it a DCT. I couldn't find an M3 and had a few deals fall through so I gave it up. I'm happy with my decision though.
