    Let's talk e85 storage!!!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So it's unfortunate that some of us live a certain distance from e85 pumps. For example I'm about 45 minutes from a pump. Is there any accurate information on airsealed shelf life of e85?

I've got a truck to haul it.
Ive got access to two 35 gallon drums .
Just need the proper info to make sure we can store it properly and not have issues of the e85 losing the properties.

All info I've read have said many different things:
    7 days
    90 days max
    6 months max
I dunno really just figured I would ask the audizine.
Let me know your suggestions and thoughts.

Idk. Quick search has a range, but 3-4 months sounds doable. Maye add in some of that Stabil additive to minimize water absorption.

And if these guys are doing it, sounds like it could be plausible. http://gtrlife.com/forums/topic/6767...m-e85-storage/
This link suggests doing it properly can keep ethanol for up to a year: http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/e85...helf-life.html

I am kind of lucky because i found a gas station here by Fort Meade that 6 miles away... However if they are closed (9a to 5p gas station) i would have to drive 25 miles out to get some E85...

I buy and store 150 gallons of pump E85 in my garage. I've had it up to 9 months and the E content doesn't change. My tuner says he's had drums for over a year and no issue's.

This is not complicated. Don't let others make it seem complicated. I ad an ounce of Lucas Ethanol additive to every 5 gallons i put in my car...but i have no proof that it does anything. I've been doing this for 3 years and never had an issue.

I'd find a local tuner and get a couple empty 55 gallon drums. Many gas stations also have them as they buy diesel additive by the drum and go through them quickly and toss the drums. Once you get going you'll go through more than you anticipate.
