How often do you renew your suspension? springs/shocks (lowered)

I lowered my '03 a4 about 2 years ago with JOM coilover kit springs & shocks. I've lowered a few cars with different coil over kits over the years and this has by far been the most value I've gotten out of a kit. Under $400, quality parts and easy to install, dropped to perfect height, tight sporty feel yet not too far from stock. Anyhow, as you can tell I'm happy with the kit, enough with the commercial... I don't have the long term memory to compare to 2 years ago when I first installed them but I have a feeling the car is starting to (smash) bottom out more often then it did at first. It could just be the springs have sagged or loosened up, but I'm not sure. I'm still happy with the feel but I was just curious how often others with lowered vehicles swap out shocks/and or springs? How do you guys determine when it's time to renew your suspension?

If you're on the track enough, then you could might notice degraded performance, ...otherwise, why can't you get 100k miles? Inspection might show leaky struts. Cruising the back roads, I've had one corner where the car would drop-out of cruise control....now with new suspension, that doesn't happen
