    hi everyone,
I currently have 03 A4 B6 3.0L ATM. and my father in law has the VW Jetta 2.0 2002.
I don't know how long i will keep the Audi A4 B6 but it has be seating for since last summer to now. I has been repair/replace parts on the car to bring it back to life without any scanning tools.
I need a scanning tool that has instructions and programming capability. after read / ask questions, I am settle for the Ross-tech. I need your help on your thought base on my current vehicles.
which version of ross-tech hardware i should go with. one big key to keep in mind is that my other half is the fan of Audi after she drove my A4 B6 for 5 years. she does like all the Q7 and A6/S4

    Name Price Availability
VCDS License with HEX-NET (WiFi/USB) 10 VINs (All VAG) $449.00 In Stock
VCDS License with HEX-USB+CAN Unlimted VIN (All VAG) $349.00 In Stock
VCDS License with Micro-CAN Unlimited VIN (most VW '05.5 to current) $249.00 In Stock
VCDS License with KII-USB Unlimited VIN (VW to ~'05; Audi to ~'03) $249.00 In Stock

should i get the HEX-NEX 10 VINs? or should I get the KII-USB unlimited VIN? what is 10 VINs and unlimited VIN? is this mean I can only store or work only 10 cars? can I remove the vins so it never be 10 vins in the system?
upward compatible, hex-nex is sensible to procure however, if i sold my cars and not go with Audi/VW, KII-USB is favorable.
    what is your thought?

    No

If you think you will be getting more VAG vehicles that are more modern I would go with the HEX-USB+CAN. If not then I would just get the KII-USB.

HEX-USB+CAN is the good stuff. Does everything, unlimited VIN. If you are going to buy one, get the one that does it all so you aren't stuck later. If you are limited to 10 VINs then you can't scan friends cars and stuff. Not cool. Don't be that guy. ;)

For B6 and older, you don't need hexcan. But if you plan on buying a 2005+ audi or VW you'll need hexcan.
The KII+UsB does the same thing but only works on 2005 and older cars.

I found a KEY-USB, which is unlimited VIN and works up to '03 Audi, for $100 on Panjo. Check Panjo and eBay, you may find a deal. The license is in the cable, so a genuine cable is all you need for the full version.

Yea, you can always sell it to recoup the money. They don't really seem to loose that much value. In a few years you should still be able to get at least $150 for it.

The deals are there, just have to keep an eye out for them and strike quickly before someone else does.

This does seem to be the case. The $349 cable still sells for at least $300 on a regular basis around here. If it's any cheaper it's usually because someone is looking for a quick sale.
