    Disable ecode DRL?

I installed my ecodes and morimoto retrofit. I love the upgrade however l I just installed the LED DRL bulbs and now I feel it's killing the look of the xenons at night. is there any way to disable the DRL when headlights are on? or do I just need to remove the bulb. I don't understand why DRL would be on with low beams anyway lol.

It isn't a daytime running light, it is a city light for Europe, equivalent to a parking light in the US. Both of which are on all the time. The only way to get rid of it with the lights on would be too remove the bulb entirely.

How are city lights "killing" the look of the Xenon projectors when they reside in the same reflector as the halogen high beam? If the color is off, work on getting city bulbs that match the color temperature of the Xenon bulbs. With ecodes, the outermost bulb is just for the turn signal. The city light is your parking light. For US spec headlights, the outermost bulb functions both as the turn signal and parking light, so there would be no additional light on in the high beam reflector.

If you install a relay into the housing with a matching resistor, you can have the city light turn off when the low beam turns on and not have a bulb out warning. This is how mine is set up. If you need more info I can try and dig up some info. I believe there is a thread on here that I did a write up one. Try searching under my username.

I understand the outer light is for turn signal. that long explanation wasn't needed. I thought the inner light was a DRL rather than a repositioned parking light (whereas most cars have that on the outside unless we are talking old school crown Vic's) first reply explained it is a parking light and is going to come on with the lights rather than as a DRL would.

it is killing the look because no matter what type of bulb I put on there, it doesn't match my xenons. I'm running a 55watt 5000k kit which is really white with no yellow or blue tint. however this is the closest led bulb I could get, and it still makes my Hids look like halogen, as well as illuminate the whole Housing..which is what is "killing" the look for me. I just want the low beams on. IMO it looks as if I'm driving with my lows and highs at the same time. but that's just my opinion.

I would appreciate more info on this man. it's exactly what I'm looking for. I don't mind the current Drivin bulb by itself. however once I turn on my low beams I dislike it lol. I'll also search your username once I get to a pc. thanks for the info as it's exactly what I was looking for.
