    Tighten gas cap warning.

Ok, so the day my "Tighten gas cap" warning came on but we pump our own gas here in PA so I'm sure I tightened it. I got to work and took it off and retightened for good measure, I drove home with no problems but that next morning the check engine light (or MIL? Is that right?) came on. Today I filled it up and it did the whole "no I don't want to start" when I tried to start it. I have an N80 on the way but I've read the Carbon Canister could be saturated with fuel how could I check if it is?

Yes I was topping my tank off...it won't be happening anymore!

I just had the same issue about 2 weeks ago. Replaced the n80 and no problem so far. Hopefully that's all it is.

so what exactly is the symptom ?

so when the pump "clicks off" you decide to go back and keep filing ? so then you go back to start your car and it wont start ?

i'm not connecting the dots with the loose cap thing.

I imagine a loose gas cap mil is the evap system sensing a major leak ( like the n-80 stuck open ) so I think that may fix that issue.

Its a small evap leak code you usually get, pretty common to be either the N80 or gas cap (There's a revised version)

Thanks fellow Audi fans for the info, it's appreciated.

The symptom iceman, was a loose gas cap mil which went out and hasn't come back on. Now it's a check engine light, with a little more vibration while at idle and that not wanting to start after the fill up thing it did. On the topping the fuel tank off, yes your right after the pump clicks off I would go back and round up the $$ to the next 0.25...it's an OCD thing. However I've read from multiple sources here and elsewhere topping the tank off will cause

    Thanks again everyone.
