    B8 A4 Titanium Package Option

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there a titanium package kit for us?

How can we switch the exterior chrome window surround to the titanium package without paying an arm and a leg?

I noticed esctuning sells the pieces individually.

The only other option is to plastidip them or something like that, but i really dont want to do that. Im not sure how it would come out.

    Any ideas?!?

I was actually digging around for some info on this earlier this week. Here's a blacked out avant: (I'd go matte over gloss vinyl for window trim though.)

    Full thread here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t-build-thread

Most tint shops can do this. I was quoted $300 for the windows and another $200 for the roof rails on my avant. I imagine a sedan would be cheaper.

Vinyl wrapping, blackout tape, and plasti dip have all been used multiple times to black out window trim. Just comes down to your skill set and how much you want to spend on it.

I wrapped my chrome trim matte black. It's time consuming but not that bad. I would definitely suggest you do it yourself.

You can also replace the full trim around the Windows. It's costly but it's the best OEM option. I'm not sure but you may or may not have to break the small rear window....

Depends on where you are I imagine. In the Boston metro area I received two quotes for blacking out the sedan window trim and front grille trim. One was $800 and the other was $900.

Given that, I will be attempting it myself this summer using http://shadowlinetrim.com

That's insane. I'd try using electrical tape before I paid that kind of money to black out trim.

You could search for a car that has been wrecked and buy the trim from a salvage yard. I would say unless it was hit in the sides it should be in good shape.

I plasti-dipped my chrome trim. It was fairly straight forward. Taping was the most time-consuming part, but not a difficult job at all.

I'm the minority here... I say source OEM titanium trim somewhere. I've seen these wraps in person and they all were peeling at one edge or another.

This is what i am afraid of, i saw a bunch of videos on it with vinyl wrapping and pasti-dipping them but how long will they hold.

I will try to do a diy on it once i receive the vinyl wrap.

I paid $80 to black out all my trim using 3M wrap. $40 for the grill. Mind you he didn't research how much work the trim was for the B8, most cars just have it under the window

This is my only gripe, because the wrap needs to go around to the inside of the door, so it tends to pop up. Hoping to fiddle with it when it gets warmer

On the B6/B7 sedans you used to have to break the small rear window to remove the rear trim. In fact, if you bought a blackout kit from a retailer often times it would include replacement rear windows. Not sure if Audi wised up with the B8 platform (probably not...)

I was quoted $200 from a shop that specializes is plasti-dip to blackout the trim in my AR.

I've dipped it twice in a year but that's because I did not lay it on thick enough. I keep short changing just how much needs to go on.

That seems really high for the amount of dip and time needed to do it.
