need your guys advice on pricing..

so, I've been building a stage 3 nogaro blue over the last 4 months. I converted the car from tip to manual and used many OEM parts as I prefer factory Audi over most OEM. it started off as a restoration project so I even went as far as to pull the center console and clean heavily in all areas where dirt and use and collected over the years. I now have an opportunity to buy a home, which I wasn't expecting when I started this project. I toiled with the idea of keeping, but I just can't. my question to everyone is, what can I expect to sell this thing for? I don't want to just Craigslist or cars.com it as most won't know what it is and I'll be low balled.

all of the mechanicals are sound. I used:

034 stage 3 turbo kit and tune
    034 engine/trans mounts
    OEM RS4 clutch kit
    rebuilt front axles
    all engine seals replaced
    coolant flushed
    TB/water pump replaced
034 silicone hose kit top to bottom
    APR snub
    H&R sport springs
    034 strut mounts
full turbo back SSAC exhaust without cats

    cosmetic:
windshield cowl replaced with brand new one
    euro wiper arms/blades
Valeo euro OEM housings with OSRAM bulbs
    RS4 grille
    VMR 810 gunmetal 19X8.5 ET35
    new upper CA's
    RS4 alcantara shift knob
customer jet black alcantara belt line trim
    RS4 satin handles
newly black stained rear deck cover
    ziza license plate lights
    alcantara shift boot
    RS4 cluster (in KPH)
    RS4 OEM alcantara wheel
    B6 Recaro front seats
    new OEM wheel well liners

    things that still need work:
headliner needs to be replaced/recovered and is out of car. old fabric stripped off
clutch vent valve needs to be wired to ECU
pillars have been fully recovered in alcantara but not installed without headliner in
ECU/cluster needs to be coded for manual (ABS, ESP, and brake light on center DIS illuminated) - I don't have VAGCOM which I know is probably one of the first things to buy when going stage 3
various cosmetic things around the car. it isn't horrendous, but it needs the exterior cosmetic stuff
back seat cushion bottom and bottom of front B6 recaros have some leather tightening

I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the mods. here are a few pics:

car has 140k on it when I installed the cluster just after my build. stage 3 kit has less than 1k miles on it. it drives incredibly strong. what kind of money should I be expecting for this thing seeing it still needs work but has many positives

Looks rather stock. Nice and clean. Great seats and interior. I'd say start your price somewhere around 3.50$

Just kidding though. Seriously, north of 16k. I believe the best cars should be worth the most. This is one of those.

I bought stage 3 a couple of months ago and so just from what I've seen based on miles, condition, rarity, and pricing of others, you're probably looking at around 11k.

I listed it on CL for $9900. I need somewhat of a quick sale as I'm pressed for time. it'll be tough to let this one go. many late nights, tons of sweat and hours into it. I'll be back to the B5 community on the future without a doubt though

If you can get with someone local and get the coding corrected and get the wiring done to the ecu, you'll have a better chance selling it or not getting low balled too bad.

I debated reaching out. I guess I still could. I have a short sale deal which needs to close quickly or if absolutely go that route. I'm legitimately pressed for time on this.

I'm dropping it to $6900. the more I think about it, it's fair and priced for a quick sale. there is the coding and interior trim piece thing. damn wish I could've kept going with this project.

As others have said, highly recommend finishing up the last few details like the headliner and cluster coding. You want to give people as few excuses as possible to low ball. Don't throw away all the work you put in to sell it a few weeks sooner.

    Exactly.

For $6900, I'll take leave and buy it off you site unseen. What a steal. The fact beat (literally beat) S4's in Toronto sell for $5k with high miles. Raise your price back up and wait a little longer

    You're pricing it too low.

You'll regret it as you can get more and you'll be forced to deal with nitwits.

Not to mention you're hurting the market for other B5 owners.

Way too low. The car is worth so much more than that.

Unless you need your meth fix now... in which case I'd say you're priced for meth.

I wish I had all the money together I'd buy this over price, like I said you should keep it or seriously up the price for this.

I agree with what everyone is saying by fixing the issues and making it a solid car inside and out. I know you are pinched for time, but I feel like your throwing away a few grand. This car all sorted out should be 13-16k depending on how clean the car is, mileage, etc. I would advise looking into other alternatives for money and seeing if you can manage picking the house up without selling the car ASAP. Then get the car sold and invest that money toward the house or repay wherever it was borrowed. Just my opinion.

My thoughts as someone who worked in car sales and now insurance are that as long as all mechanicals are in order price it accordingly and keep the price. Dropping the price dramatically doesn't always generate more interest, lots of times the opposite "why did he drop the price, what's he hiding ?" Years ago we had a Jetta on out lot and no one looked at it at $5400. For the Thanksgiving sale weekend it went on sale for only $6500. It sold the first day, I could not believe the guy never even negotiated....I would not tell prospective buyers that you just finished such and such upgrades; they will think something went wrong and he's just trying to unload it before it blows up. Sure you may get low ballers, folks like that are everywhere, don't worry about them: NO, thanks for coming and wait for the real buyer. I hate people who call and first thing they ask is how low are you willing to go ? And I do believe everyone calling you knows exactly what an S is, no A4 buyer will call by mistake.

yeah, I'm heeding everyone's advice. I am incredibly excited to scoop up this home. I've gotten many calls/texts so far about it. it is beyond annoying that despite the thousands of dollars put into this thing in the last 4 months, people still ask, "what's the lowest you'll go". how stupid of a question: I immediately feel like I'm getting the worst part of the bargain. my reply has for the most part been, "what's the highest you'll pay". I'm going to hold off on creating a fire sale for it. I won't be putting more money into it and likely won't have time to correct the coding or headliner on the next few months. but, I'll make an appropriate ad with thorough details of what's needed and wait for the right buyer/enthusiast who appreciates what this is and what I've put into it. not going to ask crazy money, but I'll be fair to both the buyer and myself. breaking point for me today: some guy asks, "I noticed in your ad the wheel well liners were replaced. was it because it was in an accident and they were damaged?". wtf.. they were 15 years old and looked like sh*t. I said this was a restoration project. when I get questions like that, I realize my pricing is so low it's bringing out the strokes, looking to bottom feed and low ball. kinda summarizes what everyone's been saying. thanks all for your input. I'll hold off for the right buyer, at the right price.

Nice do you need a headliner cause I have one I just need to take it out of the car, I am pretty much ready to junk my car I need space for a possible new one. I don't mind giving it away for free.
