This doesn't make sense - H&R front sway bar

Got a set of H&R sways for the b6, only when trying to bolt up the front one there's about a 1" gap to the sway bar link.

I'm not sure if I'm just supposed to get longer bolts and clam it down (which with put end links at an angle or some kinda spacer? I went to h&r in the USA when I was down there... They told me their kit showed no spacers.. Anyone else have an issue with this?

Are you on jack stands or ramps? Meaning is the suspension loaded with the weight of the car or is it sagging with the weight of the car supported by jack stands?
