I have 2 lifetime memberships, one in my S5 and the other one in my truck.
They are well worth the money especially if you enjoy getting get out of the city limits.
I believe they still sell them, you just have to ask for them.

Wow, you beat me. I called to cancel and finally lifted the offer at something like 6 months for $25.

It was actually kind of fun:

"No, really, I just want to cancel."
Long pause.
"What if we offered you X months for Y dollar?"
"No, I still want to cancel."
Long pause.
"What if we did X months for 0.85*Y dollars?"

Repeat a few more times.

I got the $20 for 5 months deal last time but I had to cancel my subscription on one of our cars yesterday.
My limit was the cost of Pandora ($4.99/month) and the best they could do this time was $28+fees for 5 months or $99+fees for 1 year. I reiterated my limit to them as I have in the past to get $20 for 5 months and explained why (i.e. I can use Pandora everywhere and not just in my car) but they wouldn't / couldn't do anything better. They wouldn't even include on-line streaming without an extra $4.99/month charge and they had no option for on-line only.

So no more SiriusXM for one of our cars and probably the other soon too. If the service didn't cutout so much or they included on-line streaming I'd probably feel different. Time to see if I get that $15 for 6 month offer Usa mentioned.

also you can input your radio id and see if your up for a free trial. I put my S4 in and got 3 month free trial no obligation no credit card, then i put in my wifes and it had a lifetime subscription just needed to be reset.

Do you also hate me for getting my new S4 for the price of an A4? I am not the guy who haggles over the price of a gallon of milk, but will always seek out the best deals. No offense, but I would call your "good" customer an "uninformed" customer

Compared to what the B&O system can sound like vs. what you get with satellite, it's just not worth it for music whatsoever *to me*. Other than some sports stuff, I could care less about satellite and certainly not worth $15 - $20 / 5 months or whatever... maybe that much a year! haha

I used to have it in a TrailBlazer w/ a Bose system and it was never aux/cd quality, but I don't remember it being nearly this bad.

Yep it happened to me.

Back OT - I just cancelled my Sirius - They raised my rates 30% again this year. I called them and they said I could go back to the rate that I was paying (~12/month with internet streaming). I let them know that they send me promotions all the time for 25$ and I want something closer to that or I'm going to take my business elsewhere. They let me and my 14 year subscription (+1 lifetime membership) just go away.

I'll wait a few months then sign up as a new customer again.

Speaking of Sirius, does anyone have trouble getting all the channels? For example, I cannot get CNN radio to show up. I have refreshed the signal, I have checked and all categories are enabled to show, and I definitely have the package that gives me all channels. Any ideas?

Sirius has been wonky the past two days. It did a refresh yesterday morning and I still can't change my volume; it is grayed out and "currently unavailable". The volume works with the normal radio.

I don't think I am going to renew again, even if I get offered another ridiculous deal. I might just switch to Spotify and play music via my phone.

There is no reason. SiriusXM is absolutely not worth $14/month in any capacity. The sound quality is rubbish and almost every station now has commercials, which was one of the big reasons for going to satellite radio.

There are no music channels on Sirius with commercials. The only commercials are syndicated talk stations that Sirius doesn't broadcast itself. They also re-broadcast a few stations from NY and LA for music, which explains commercials there, but none of Sirius' original music stations have commercials.

The sound quality is better than traditional FM, but not as good as HD radio. I do wish they'd improve that.

Well I called to cancel today for not getting channels after 184. They offered me like 5 different things which I said no to and the one I finally said yes to was all access for 6 months for $50.

I renewed two weeks ago for 6 months at a rate of $36.49 with tax. Not a huge fan of XM, but why not for what rate?

I get no commercials what so ever. Years back when they were first starting out, there was a fair amount of commercials, but the was on talk shows like CNN, Fox News, ect. I listen to various stations now that stream strictly music, and I get no commercials at all. One or two in a blue moon...but that's very rare.

Most Sirius/Xm packages go up to channel 184. Over that is usually premium channels, NHL, NFL, MLB etc.

The only reason is because their service costs them nothing per user, so everything is straight to the bank. The more people they can get at the higher rate, the better. They're not losing money at the lower rate, but of course they'll try to get you to pay higher.

The overwhelming majority of people just pay it without thinking.
