No wonder those r35's can handle so much power... Looks like it's mainly due to that 60 degree block.

This looks like some photog trickery, it appears the 2.7t block is considerably lower in this pic, and the GTR block is higher up, closer to the camera making it appear much larger. Sort of like when guys kill big game animals and stand in the back of the animal to make it appear much larger then it really is.

Obviously it's a bigger block, but I think this photo is slightly misleading.

what bugs me about the Audi 2.7 is the siamese rod journal which i think is very stupid, but worked. Its like nissan engineers didn't take a chance an did 2 complete separate journals...

You have to understand that the GTR is a much more expensive car to begin with, and Nissan also over-built the engine on purpose, because GTR.

Put the GTR block next to a 6.2 Hellcat or V10 Viper block and it looks puny too

I think it was to just highlight how v6 engines have changed (or progressed if that's how you view it haha) over the last 15 years. Iron vs aluminum, narrower v for smoother idle and tighter packaging, taller deck, girdle vs caps, etc

What audi did is pretty typical of a 90deg v6. Something similar to the 2.7 would be needed on a 60deg v8. People did do odd fire stuff though.

What nissan did is interesting. A 60deg v6 would normally be like the 2.7 crank, but without the offset rod journals.
That looks like it would make the crank both heavier and weaker compared to a typical setup. Maybe the different firing order tunes up some crank harmonics or something so it doesnt see as much stress?
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

GTRs were running solid numbers at TX2K event. Stock I believe ran 11.6 bunch of them in the 9s and few in the 8s. However this was only if their trans didn't go into limp mode. and all we saw were converted to RWD.

I actually worked on a viper v10 and it was surprisingly small. The engine was also one of the easiest I've ever wrenched on. 6 tools and I removed the engine and tore it apart haha.

Performance benefits asides, do you miss a true manual transmission? (not necessarily an 01E, but just having control over that 3rd pedal?)

I keep debating if I could go DSG, and I just love rev matching and such as it keeps me entertained while driving normally lol

Apparently the bank lady thread is long gone, however I found an overview on another forum:

    1) Guy finds out a hot girl at the bank owns a modded S4

    2) Posts about the girl + s4 on Audizine

    3) Thread explodes with leg humping, picture posting, epic comments, etc

    4) The girl is actually on the forums
