    2017 S7 differences

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys so I was told yesterday that it is too late to order a 2016 model, and that I would have to wait a few weeks to order a 2017.

Does anyone know if there will be any differences to the 2017's? I have never ordered a car and honestly I am a little to impatient for that! The only thing that attracts me to that is that it would be a 2017 and I would be able to get the layered aluminum inlays, (which I can not find those inlays on any S7 Sepang blue in Southern CA).

But there is a local dealer who has a 2016 in exactly what I want minus two things. It has carbon inlays and does not have the front license plate delete. Other than that it is perfect. I got them to honor Audi club discount (6%) and now I am just trying to get them down on their money factor.

The other question I have is how would a 2016 vs. 2017 match up financially on a lease? Im guessing that I would get a higher residual on a 2017 but also a higher money factor so they would maybe just cancel each other out. Does anyone know if there would be a difference between the two years on a lease?

    Thanks,

I think its safe to assume that the FBW (fly by wire) dashboards as seen in the new Q7, TT & A4 models would come in any refresh or the C7.5 platform.

Ive seen some concept stuff on the "new" A7, some of which looks pretty cool, but until Audi releases specifications its all guess work.

Regardless of that, Audi does not usually release any performance models until 3/6 months into launch.

I'm not expecting any major differences, just the usual model-year tweaks.

Yeah so i am conflicted right now!!!!!!!!! I could order a 2017 in a couple of weeks or just pull the trigger on this one. It is sitting at a local dealer and I was able to negotiate a pretty good deal on it, (i think anyway).

2 things it doesn't have that i wanted, front plate delete and layered aluminum inlays.

what's a pretty good deal? I did what you did with the a 2015 model right around Jan 29, 2016 - if it's sitting on the lot, they will have to take a slight hit because 2017 will be out very very soon.

But i had an incentive because i love the C7 headlights and don't like the C7.5 headlights.

Front Plate delete they should accommodate you and get that part replaced. I assume the CF inlays are in there? IMO looks better with the BO package on the outside.

I don't mind sharing my price - $92,080 - sold @ $81,500 + Audi Care. I had eyeballed it for a while as it was on the lot for 2 months. I also walked out on them twice and actually was gonna go with the X5 50i M Sport but the SA at that dealership fucked it up over $300 on my trade in, LOL.

Given that Audi just did a mid-cycle refresh, it is highly unlikely that the 2017 will differ much (if at all) from the 2016. I had the same dilemma, and after much research ended up getting a 2016 rather than wait. Audi is very consistent about their 8-year product cycles, with a mid-cycle refresh at 4 years. Thus, the C7 was introduced in the US for the 2012 year model, and was just refreshed to the C7.5 for 2016.

So this car has been on the lot for 3 months, its a very small Audi dealership. I got the audi club discount of 6% off sticker and got the supplier money factor which is .00067. I thought this was a good deal but dang you got over 10k off!!!! (but I figure you got such a smoking deal cause the news models were out!). Like I see some dealerships offering 15% off of 2015 vehicles in stock.

DJ, using the numbers you've received from that dealer, what would your lease payment be? The old lady is contemplating leasing her first Audi.

It would be around $965, that is with $12,000 down, and receiving a $1,000 conquest credit. I know it is not recommended to put down a lot of money on a lease cause if the car was stolen or totaled, i would lose that but It is really a psychological thing for me because I would feel really guilty having a $1,400 car payment.

I would say 100% you can squeeze them for more. I did the ACNA discount thing too, but they give that with or without that membership. I know they had more wriggling room too, but I was happy at that price so I accepted. If they are a smaller dealership, even better, they have less bargaining power and other dealerships won't want to ship to them as readily.

Squeeze them hard, but understand that you may have to walk away and maybe not get the deal. Like I said, I initially walked away because they would only give me the 6% and went over to BMW. I went on the last day of the month, spent 3 hours, and told them that I didn't need to buy the car, but if they wanted to meet me I could get that damn car off the lot.

However, if you really really really really want the car, you'll always be at a disadvantage.

We'll I actually walked away once because they wouldn't give me the money factor I wanted (.00067). And surprisingly they didn't call me back for two weeks. BTW I was really proud of myself for walking away, hahaha.

just a friendly tip... if they asking for any higher of a money factor than .00067 then the deal they are giving you is not as good as you may think

Yeah they definitely hit me with a higher money factor. Just to be clear I was thinking it was a good deal but not an "oh my God" smoking deal.

Side note, I sold cars for a while (a long time ago)and currently in a 100% commissions business so sometimes it's tough for me to be ruthless and grind a car deal to where the sales guy doesn't make that much money cause I hated when people did that then or do it to me now. But I guess that is more of a personal thing, but I'm going to do my best! !

don't forget the dealer rebates that don't get added in. If you know the way commission structure works, you know there are other incentives and most importantly, every dollar you fight for is precious. Let someone else's folly be their problem. Today, its all about the best price for you.

have you thought about a cpo 2015, 2016? Double the warranty and mine was 20k off of the sticker for 15k miles, they even replaced a tire for free. Had it for 15k miles and not a single problem.

ha - a $1400 car payment would send me to a psychiatrist! Appreciate the breakdown. Leasing is like math to me. All I see is blah blah blah blah blah.
