    Homelink visor wiring diagram

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have recently done a black headliner swap. Problem is my old visors were non-homelink, while the new ones are.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can find which wires I need to splice to get my vanity light to work?
I'm not too concerned about the Homelink as I don't have the unit anyways, I just want the light to work.

Original visor has a 2 pin connector, homelink has a 6 pin, FYI.

Do you happen to have a non-homelink visor wiring diagram so I could compare the two?

I would take a different approach: grab a multimeter and check to see which wires have continuity when the mirror is uncovered.
You just have to check all combinations of 2 pins; it's gonna take you 10 minutes max.

Decided I wanted to attempt to retrofit the homelink buttons hardwired to my generic garage door opener, now that the lights are working.
I assume that the buttons are just contact switches, is this a safe assumption?

If someone had the homelink visor wiring diagram (including the buttons, not just the light switch like the diagram above) it would be a huge help!

Karl - I know it has been 6 yrs since the post above, but do you remember what you learned back then regarding 1) which color wires for what for the 6-pin Homelink visor connector (yes, I can start using Ohm meter) and 2) any other tidbits from your retrofit? I bought a Homelink visor for my 2013 A3 8P sportback (that I just acquired a month ago) that has a non-electrified visor and I am running wire up the a-pillar (and down into the fusebox area, and hope to zip-tie the remote control in there) this weekend to attempt this. Thank you, Vince

What is story on the 6 wires of A3 visor with Homelink

Karl (et al.) - I did an ohm test of the 6-pin connector on the A3 Homelink equipped visor I got off ebay. I did not expect the ohm test results I have at this time. The two black wires are the vanity light - not what I would have predicted, but OK. But, the other 4 wires are producing oddball results.

See attached image. Did you figure out the wiring story for the 6 wires coming out of the visor? I am scratching my head on what the story could be. Hard for me to believe it is shorted out on the inside (the visor looks pristine) but I suppose that is possible.
