    P0016 crank , no start.

    From the beginning,
Car was functioning normal on its first start, went for a long cruise and when i came to stop and park i noticed the car was idling funny and the motor was doing a light rocking back and forth, i turned it off and let it sit for about 30 min. Went to try and start it and it wouldn't start or crank. I checked the codes and it was for a p0016 and multiple misfire , because i was far from home i just cleared the code and the car started right up and i drove. Arrived home turned the car off and on again and nothing no crank. Same code came up but this time specific to cylinder misfire in 1 and 4.

I changed plugs and coil packs camshaft position sensor and all it does is crank but no start.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

How many miles are you? Could be the crank position sensor on the transmission. It's a hall type sensor and when it starts to fail it expands with heat from driving around and when you go to restart the car it'll not send any info to the ECU and the car won't start. Only after it cools down for a little bit, 20-30 minutes, the car will restart. If it's that, you sitting for half an hour to check and clear codes would have given it enough time to cool down and allow the car to start.

    Ask me how I know...

Google is your friend, p0016 has nothing to do with plugs, coils, or crank sensor. Your injector on cylinder #3 is dead or you lost compression (piston rings).

Very likely your timing has jumped. When the tensioner no longer provides enough chain tension the cam jumps a tooth. The ECU senses the mismatch between the cam and crank position and sets this code. If it can jump one tooth it can jump possible leading to a destroyed motor. If ou are comfortable with motor work the upper timing chain cover can be removed with 5 no so easy to get to screws, remove spark plugs and rotate crankshaft with a socket to see if the cam marks match the chain link colored links or are at least the same number off as the chain marks don't align with the cams every rotation.

The link above is for P1006 not P0016 which is crank/cam correlation.

Welcome to hell. Chain jumped. Best to repace all timing components at once. You'll also need ALL the special tools. This engine is very sensitive to improperly done timing jobs. You'll also want to update your cam bridge if it hasn't been done already.
