    Best mods for the money..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This has probably been covered but I did a search and couldn't come with much. So I'm sorry of this has been beaten to death.

As far as our cars go, what are the best "bang for the buck" mods to with?

    Thank you.

    1. Tune..stage 2, if you are dsg then tune for that too.
    2. Intake so you can hear that engine a little more, depending on the intake you choose.
    3. Exhaust, mainly for sound, not much gains to be had here.

I think you do everything you can, one mod at a time so you see the difference they all make. That's the fun part about tuning a car. Once you start, you can't stop anyway. lol

Bang for the buck is tough with the Audi tax on mods.

Gotta pay to play for an exhaust and some of the tuning options but the other stuff can be found cheapish (intake/Alu Kreutz).

the Eurocode short shifter is another must have if you're manual.

Everyone has different priorities ... for me, I wanted a daily driver with better handling, looks and sound ... without risking the warranty. Did Eibach springs (ADS shocks), BBS forged wheels, Milltek exhaust, and (my favorite) the blindspot mirrors. I know some folks prefer coilovers but the Eibach springs are pretty mild so they pair well with the ADS shocks. Good luck, there's no wrong answer here.

OP I would invest heavily in getting at least 2 Audizine stickers, one for each rear window of your car. Cant beat the Dollar/Hp value. This alone will get you into the 11's @ the 1/4mile due to serious badassness

Intake is the best first mod performance wise...you get a few hp and the whine sounds awesome😎

Lowering springs is the best first suspension mod...cleans up the fender gap and improves cornering/overall handling.

Window tint is the best exterior mod...improves/changes the look of the car and gives you privacy.

Stage II Tune with Pulley and if applicable, DSG Tune. Toss in 3 Gals of E85 top off the rest with 93 and smile because once the car adapts it's a beast for 2 ton sedan. I just got back from some 2 and 4 lane twisties and fun on a beautiful partly cloudy 45* day and she is loving this weather.

Personally.. if you are keeping the stock wheels then H&R OE springs and ECS Peeler spacers for the stocks are a must. Completely changes the look of the car. So much cleaner.

When you say Peeler spacers, you just mean the "ECS Flush Kit", correct? I'll soon be on OE Springs/Bilstien but was hesitant about the spacers until after I'm already lowered.

Blackout tape to cover the area between the horizontal grill strips on the B8.5s . Cost : $6. Removing the V6T emblems. Free! Doesn't get cheaper than that! Definitely get a dipstick.

I took my CTS intake off 6+ months ago for the 5k service, and it has been sitting in the spare room ever since. I will probably throw it back on when the weather warms up.

Wow, I should only hit 10k miles at one year, so you have me beat at your rate.

I'm going to throw a "mod" out there that no one mentioned yet. At this point it's the only mod that I have done yet and it completely transformed how my car drives. I went from the stock 18" wheels and stock Pirelli P6 A/S tiresto 19" wheels with Michelin PSS tires. The car feels 100% stiffer now and is glued to the road. This is a must do "mod" in my opinion. Tomorrow my coilovers, rear sway and end links go on. Very excited to see how the car drives with these next few mods.
