    New 1/4 run after mods

Hey guys 2015 s4 here w/dsg transmission. Ran the car stock in the summer and went 13.3 at 104. It was about 90 degrees out. Ran the car tonight after my tune, pulley, and intake and ran a 12.3 at 111. 50 degrees out tonight. What a difference the mods made though! I got my work done at powerhaus performance in cherry hill, nj and I highly recommend them. My 60 foot was a 1.799 not too bad considering I need new tires. Lined up against a brand new camaro ss and beat him due to a better launch. I'll post the slip, I was in the left lane.

Nice, which track in NJ? Does your tune have switching capabilities? Would have been interesting to see stock time vs your tune time at these cooler ambients.

No it doesn't but my guess is that my car on a cooler day would have went a best of 13.1 stock. I've raced ppl when I was stock and lost and then raced them afterwards and beat them by 3-4 cars. Huge difference. Raceway park in englishtown was the track.

Put 5 gallons of E85 and give you car a chance to fully benefit from the tune. There is a lot of power left in that slip!

Lol. He literally said 5 gallons. That would be assuming into a full tank of typical fuel.

Apologies if I wasn't clear. yeah 5 gallons of E85, rest fill it with 93.

I'd bet you will gain a few MPH on that slip with some E85 in the tank

Nice runs regardless! Once I switch back to summers, I may have to join you and perform a couple passes. Were you the only b8.5 S4 there?

nice times! I went to school in that area. I went to Marlboro and Manalapan High School. A few years in Freehold Township for their computer science program. It is a good place. I'd like to see it again some time.

Sorry, I have to ask. Is your tune specifically for e85? Or does it have a setting for that? I want to know whether it is safe to mix e85 and 93 with APR tune and pulley.

I just did my first 1/4 run in the UK revo stage 1+ 100RON file

    We don't have E85 here,so I mixed 3 litres of bio-ethanol into a full tank of 93AKI (UK99)
Logged with VCDS & ZERO knock & plenty of timing advance was seen (several degrees compared to the same map without ethanol)

    I managed a 12.26 @116.86 with a poor 60ft of 1.97 due to cold damp conditions.

I'd say the adjustment in the fuel would see a great improvement for you

Nice run especially your mph. Ya I'm calling my tuner tomorrow just to get his two cents on the mixing of e85 but I think mixing a few gallons with 93 octane shouldn't be a problem.

No my tune is not specifically for e85. Seems that the other members are saying that the ecu will adapt to a few gallons of e85 mixed in with the rest of fuel being 93 octane. I'm going to call my tuner tomorrow to double check.

    Not sure what you mean..

On the pass in my sig I was running 25% and had a great trap speed for 93 tune.
20% ratio with 93 mix raises it to about 95 oct, most cars can adapt to 20% safely. If not they're usually labeled somewhere (most likely on the gas cap) to not exceed 15% ethanol if that's what you're asking.

If you log and get no knock, then it should be sufficient enough not to go any higher and worry less about fuel trims going out of whack.

Not to thread jack but, I don't want to start a new thread as it all relates to the e85 mix talk. We can't get 93 Oct around here so I'm forced to run a 91 tune from APR. Several people are talking about running 15% e85 blend with success. Since APR refuses to give us program switching on the fly, can you safely get the 93 tune and run 91+e85, or would that not be advisable in the long run? Or, is there any reason/benefit to mixing a couple gallons of e85 with 91 if only running a 91 tune? Always looking for ways to squeak out a bit more cheap/easy power if it's relatively safe...

^^^ You are fine to run some E85 mixed with pump. Many people on this forum run 2 - 5 gallons mixed in. Not just with this car but countless other platforms as well.

You will run into an issue if you pump too much E85 and your high pressure fuel pump can't keep up. Generally, below 50% mix and you're totally fine.

I have an APR flash and un E85 all the time. I've tried anywhere from 2 - 6 gallons mixed in and she loves it like a fat kid loves cake.
