Poll: how hard do you drive your tuned S6/7 RS 7?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm curious how aggressively people use the right pedal who have a tuned vehicle. I am still stock but I know that I will brush redline at least a few times a week if I'm doing a lot of driving. I do a lot of mid range strong 2-3rd gear pulls as well. Obviously I only do it safely and when theres open highway in front. Wondering if most people flex the muscles often or only on rare occasion in these beasts. Let's see how many times folks hit redline in a given day/week and how many WOT pulls are used every day/week.

I do it whenever I have an opening. Fully equipped with ALPs and radar(s)... much of my 15 minute commute is city surface streets, but i open it up on the on ramp (to go one exit) and usually drive north towards the mountains on the weekends. That's when I break the sound barrier... some very long, straight stretches with no possible trouble.
I find myself in sport mode less and less because it's just a fricken beast... I wish the transmission would shift when it feels me left off the gas a bit in S mode but it holds the gear for so long in 2-3-4, I usually override with manual mode. With 45/50 mph speed limits on city streets, S mode wants me at 80mph without even blinking. Could use a happy medium to retain the open valved akrapovic exhaust sound. Apparently the RS7 doesn't need a TCU tune, but I'm not so sure I agree.

I am either Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde, heavily leaning toward Mr. Hyde (70/30). Let me put it this way. I pretend to be civil but have a hair trigger to move to the dark side.

I may step hard on gas to feel the pull when there is an open road ahead of me or at the ramp to enter free way from time to time but most of the time I drive civilly. I'm not gonna lie that I drive at speed limit sharp but I try to keep the speed to not go over it for more than 15 on freeway and 5 on local road. I mostly drive with transmission in D mode unless it's a fun road that I know for certain that there is no trouble ahead of me that I will run in S or shift the gear myself.

Judging from the terrified screams of my passengers, I probably drive a bit more spirited than I think I do.

I struggle in between D and S mode. Almost wish there was an in between. D is too soft, transmission is very lazy unless you push it down. Where S sometimes isn't what I want because the exhausts opens up a lot louder and sometimes I don't want to hear the downshifts. I'm taking my car in next week to get the APR TCU tune as I already have the ECU tune. I'm hoping the TCU tune livens up the transmission in normal D mode.

i'm almost always in S mode for the back purge giggles. However it does get a bit rough when there's traffic so sometimes i'll bring it over to D.

I don't speed alot but i may get to the speed limit fairly quickly?

    All settings in dynamic/sport unless.....

    1. I am in heavy traffic, then transmission is in D
    2. Longish road trip, engine and suspension are in Auto (via individual)

I use the power not infrequently, but I am not mashing on it at every light either. The car is really too powerful to be doing this without serious risk.

With your ALP, do you have the speaker or bluetooth? What does the bluetooth option do? I was thinking speaker only.

I hit redline more than a couple of times a day. In S or M most of the time unless in heavy traffic. Whats the point of the tune unless you're taking advantage of it 100%

With LA traffic..I mostly drive in Comfort.

Occasionally if I see a clearing on the fwy in early/late hours or I'm entering a fwy on ramp, I would step it up and put in S mode.

This car is already a beast.

There's no reason for me to tune up this car..there's already no way for me to put it in full potential in a big metropolitan area such as in LA....and I'm not tracking my "baby" either.

I like to use the power the car has, whenever I can. I like the torque and how much it forces you back in the seat. I also love downshifting at 3k to hear the rev matching sound. My drive to work is about 15 minutes and consists of 50/50 highway and city driving. I always hope to strike an on ramp with nobody in front of me, so I can gun it up to the highway speed limit, plus a bit.

I don't have a tune yet because I'm still wrestling with the TD1 issues but I drive this car like it was meant to be driven, whenever given the opportunity. Every chance I get, I unleash the beast in S mode. On the highway, once at the desired speed, I drive in D mode. If I'm at the front of the line at a stop light, I unleash the beast in S mode. I'm sure some will think that I'm a butthole but I don't care. I know that I don't have an ego (for the most part) and I like to have a little fun. There's a speed limit but not an acceleration limit!

I drive quite a bit during the week for biz so I have to play a bit. Why else would I have an S6 for?? On ramps and exits are for having fun. Quiet long stretches of highway are meant to let the car breathe!😉

As soon as the car reaches normal operating temp straight to dynamic she goes! The pop and crackle is addicting. I will say that the complete absence of turbo lag ever since the apr tune was installed is astounding. Before it was (step on gas) c'mon , c'mon, whoa, whoaa! Now it's just step on gas and whoa, whooohaa!

    New 2016 RS7

I have a 2016 RS7 blk/blk w carbon package. The car is an absolute beast in dynamic mode just in drive but shifting into sport really unleashes the beast. I stay in drive on the highway once i get to cruising speed but locally i like to stay in sport mode quite a bit. The exhaust is really satisfying when downshifting. I have only had the RS7 for four months and am still "adjusting" but what an adjustment it is. I wish the car handles a little better but you can't have everything. A warning to those that like black cars, expect to be at the car wash multiple times per week.
