I have been an Audi man since 99 and have owned a number of S4, Stage 3 B5, couple other B5 and B6, then Golf R, and 996 GT3. I joined here a long time ago and have been on AW/Quattroworld/WAYOT for a long time. Thanks for the welcome, will post some pics of my ride soon. Excited to be back in an S4, just wish it was an Avant.

I am in the same boat as you, Ian I decided to go to advance auto parts and rent a pulley tool. They charge you for the tool, then when you bring it back you get 100% refund. I do believe the one I have will do the job perfectly. I will be heating up the pulley with propane, and adding a hose clamp around the jaws. I will let you know how it all turns out.

I think the reason those aren't used is because they're too big and you'd have to take off the entire front end
