HPDE #2 Coming up -- Pads/Fluid/SS lines questions

    Hey guys,

I was at my first HPDE event last year (thread here!) and I just booked my 2nd event @ NJMP Lightning. I expect I might be able to do 1, or maybe 2 more HPDE events this year, along with around 10-12 autocross events.

SO, I've searched through the track drivers thread but I wanted to see what you guys think recommend for pads/fluid/lines.

Pads: It looks like Endless MX72 are the bees knees with maybe Carbotech in the same vicinity - either way we're talking a good chunk of change in the 5-600 dollar range, I think. Is that overkill for my purposes, can I do with something good enough?

    Brake fluid: Motul RBF600 work?

Lines: No idea here - would love some advice. Also, are there benefits besides brake feel with a SS lines upgrade? Also - what do you think this would cost to install, ballpark? I have NO clue.

Lastly, I still have stock conti's on my car, likely gonna move to PSS. I know it isn't great for the track, but seems like a reasonable compromise for my use (weekend car/autox/occasional HPDE)

    Thanks guys!

A set of Carbotech XP12s should run you less than 300. You can run a more street oriented pad in the rear if you want to save money (i.e. your street pads so long as they have good thickness)

Look into Pagid RS-19s if on the stock calipers. RBF-600 is fine change once a year, and just bleed the calipers before each event to get less heat cycled fluid in them. PSSs are good for track from what I have heard but keep the Pressure under 40PSI when warm they supposedly get greasy. I wouldn't worry about the SS lines too much personally I run OE RS5 lines on my RS5 brakes and never with fresh fluid when the brakes are hot have I ever felt I needed SS lines. My attitude is spend little as possible on the car to have money to spend on going to events and having Seat time
