    HELP Programming Key Fob

Hello, I have a 2001 A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro, I recently bought a new key fob and I'm having a hard time trying to program it to the car. It is the correct fob. I had it tested at autozone and it is working but the signal is very weak from only 3-4 feet away. Could this be the problem? I've tried every DIY to get it to program but it seems my avant doesn't even go into the "program mode". HELP, I'm tired of unlocking and locking my car with the key. Thanks!

Have you tried the syncing procedure in the owners manual? My fob went out of sync and I had to do this. It involves putting the key in the door and holding certain buttons for a few seconds...

Can you lock/unlock all doors from the drivers door? There's a little switch in the door that is necessary to program because it requires you unlock and lock all doors. I can explain in more detail if that sounds like it pertains to you

I can unlock and lock all doors using the driver door key hole using the key on the fob.
