    Hi, my amp is not working, and I struggle to find someone to fix it.
    New price in Norway is around $3500, rather expensive.
    Found this on eBay, it's foe A8, but seems to be the correct one, should I have a go at it?

    Do the part numbers match up? If they do then I do not see any reason why it won't work in your vehicle.
    Current: 2016 S5 in Sepang Blue with Technik Package.

    It seems dead, the pop up tweeters does not come up, and I think I only have mid tone speakers, no bass, and assuming no tweet
    Audi did try to kick start it, resetting the bus, and pulling power, it did work for half a day, and died again.

    Not present as a device.
    Could be cabling, but since they took it out, reset, and worked for a few minutes, I assume it's the device that's at fault.

    If 'status cannot be reached' then its dead. Well dead according to car anyway. If your willing to ship it to the UK i can put you in touch with a repair company who specialise in repairing audi amps. As its a MOST system then they can fully diagnose and repair it. Reasonable as well.

    I don't have a problem with that, the question is if it will be more cost effective than getting the one from eBay at 250 usd.
    Can you indicate anything ?

    If you can get one for 250usd it will be worthwhile but it MUST be the same part number for it to work

    I do agree that it needs to be the same part number
    My understanding is that the first two numbers in a part number is a code for what platform is is used for, and the rest of the number beeing
    the actual part number
    The A8 version is 4H0 035 466 (eBay.com)
    The A7 version is 4G0 035 466

    4H = A8
    4G = A6/A7

    this is really my question :-)

    Soft - I would bet you're right in that they are the same part. Perhaps an experienced rep at a dealership parts counter could quickly tell you.
    2012 A7 Prestige, Innovation Pkg, Sport Pkg, B&O / APR Stage2, AWE Touring, Injen intake
    2012 A6 Prestige - Phantom Black/Nougat/Innovation Pkg. (sold)
    2007 S6 5.2L V10 (sold)

    That is my problem, they look alike, but dealers don't have experience with mixing parts, they have acsess to the right
    ones every time. Even they think it will fit, but message is as above, we never try.

    Personally i disagree. Even the last letter that sometimes follows a part number makes a huge difference. 4G0 xxx xxx B is different to 4G0 xxx xxx C.
    Your call.

    I do agree that a different letter at the end makes can make it really different, and have different, often new functions.
    This ones however do not use and "last" letters, and it is a fact that the H and G is designated A8 and A6/7.
    But you are right, it is a slightly long shot, maybe Ill call B&O :-)

    This seems to fit A6 A7 and A8
    With the A8 part number

    Your clutching at straws; just because a seller lists as fitting A6 A8 etc does not mean they are cross compatible. The one you have listed is only for the A8 !! Check ETKA by all means!

    You are probably right, but just to prove you wrong I'm considering getting it just for the thrill :-)

    I believe the specific number is what counts, and it's a amp, don't think B&O will make this part individual.
    Speakers and so yes, a $3500 part no.
