Hello, I am starting a new thread on this. Pretty much my b6 s4 is having a ton of issues out of no where.

I was driving home the other day and my oil pressure light came on and the car started driving really weird. The clutch pedal was vibrating pretty bad when pushed in and only when pushed in. Also if i was accelerating, as soon as i let off the gas pedal the car would jerk real hard. It is now parked in the driveway until i can get to the bottom of this.

When i go to start the car, it runs for a second then immediatly shuts off so I scanned it with Vagcom with my foxwell and Its throwing a bunchhhh of codes that werent there before. Here is a list of all the codes...

    Wow, never seen that before...
Maybe something to do with ECU? Water or bad harness is short circuiting the ECU and therefore thats why you have codes for most if not all modules?
Again just a guess. I would open up the ecu box and see if theres anything wrong in there.

I had the ecu out, everything looks good. I need to grab a multimeter today. What should I be checking with it and how

I'm not much of an electrical expert but it seems like insufficient voltage to the ECU is causing issues. You really need the wiring diagrams (included in the Bentley guide) so you can check voltages at the pins that supply the ECU, at least as a start.

Bentley manual seems like a must with this vehicle. Hopefully when my engine is back in, I don't get to many codes! !! But I expect some after doing an engine pull.

OP: I'd bring that to a dealer TBH.

that many different codes/no communicates generally indicates a bad battery (voltage too low) or a missing ground or power wire. something big is disconnected/shorted somewhere

I was expecting lots of codes too when I restarted my car after doing the timing in it , but the only codes I had were SAI related (deleted everything).

just make sure you plug every connector back in, and make sure they all "click", lol

and my throttle was all over the place somehow (stalled when I gave it gas/weird behavior)
. . . had to do a quick throttle body alignment and it was fine after.

Battery going dead - voltage drop. That's all. Happened to me. Get this battery at AutoZone:

The battery tested low on voltage? Replace it and see where you're at. A lot of this power supply stuff is pretty much straight off the battery. If the supply voltage is low, it's a very good chance the battery is the culprit.

I let advance slow charge the battery for 5 hours today, got it back at 12.6v 866cca. I put it in the car, the immobilizer still kept it from starting, and I checked with the multimeter it went back down to 12.2. I just want to be sure before I buy the battery
