Wheel review with pics! VMR 810

So, I've mulled over getting new shoes for the avant for a little while. Tracy @ VMR helped me out a lot trying to figure out what I should go with. After trying on several different sizes of wheels on B5's over the years, it was decided to stick with the tried and true 19x8.5 ET 35 setup for street use. 235/35/19 tire size. I decided to go with their flow forged setup to save a few pounds and I just like the lines of the wheels better than their standard cast wheels. I chose the 19s to keep issues with big brakes at bay for the future. It was a little close to the brakes up front but not in danger of clobbering the wheel. Overall, I am really excited how they look on the car. I took the liberty of jacking the wifes camera and taking the avant down the street to the library for a few pics. I am by no means a photographer, but I play one on TV. Seriously though, I think upgrading to the flow forged line is worth it for weight savings alone. Also, having been a shop owner, I seriously appreciate quality customer service and Tracy @ VMR delivered. Hit him up so your S4 doesn't look jank with your stock wheels.

    First off- merica!

I'll get to go fast mods in a while. I have some other things to finish in the garage first, then on to the avant motor mods!

Beautiful wheels on a beautiful Avant!

I went with the 810s too, but 18x8.5 ET35. Also Gunmetal, I love the look

I live (reasonably) close to VMR, so I drove up there and they put the wheels on the car in the warehouse in Anaheim. When we weighed the 18x8.5 with 225/40/18s, it was over 6lbs/wheel weight savings versus the 17" stock Avus.

Look forward to hearing more about the Avant

Wheels look really damn good on the avant. The 19s don't look big or out of place on the avant.

Thanks! Yea, I'm hit or miss on my like towards 19s on a sedan but on an avant, I'm a big fan of 19s. The body just handles them better.

They published the weights of them. I'll have to dig it up. I didn't throw it on our scale before mounting tires.

I think I am likely to combine these two cars into what I love about each. Still thinking things through.

That looks perfect! How much room do you have up front between the brake calipers and spokes? Any fender rubbing over big bumps? I have 17Z's on my avant so I am wondering how these would fit with those brakes.

I'm pretty sure they're right at 22lb in the 19x8.5.
    I believe a factory 19x8.5 B8 S4 wheel is over 30lb.

@rockcandy such a proper setup, great photos by the way! pearl avants are beautiful!

Noticed a question regarding wheel weight and wanted to share the comparison between OEM (19x8.5 ET43; 30.4lbs) and our V810 (19x8.5 ET35; 22.8lbs)
