What's up guys? Have you encountered a leak like this before? After I turn off my car from a long drive, maybe a hour, I can hear something leaking on to my exhaust near the catalytic converter. I'm stumped because I have no idea where the source is...these B5s man

    I made a quick clip...

Is your coolant levels going down? Do you have a coolant leak? Reason I ask is if you open up the rain tray and battery cover, next to the battery is your heater core lines. If that's leaking I believe it will drain down to that area above Cat converter.

I believe there's a drain above that area, correct me if i'm wrong.

I will check but it doesn't give off a coolant odor when it's dripping on the down pipe. My overflow tank is full and the level is stable. When it happens again I'm going to pull the battery tray off and take a peak. The fluid looks clear like water.

The drain should be under the battery, around that area. You can always test by pouring some water in the drain and see if it comes out of the same area as you see in your video.

i had exactly that when it heavy rains, there is a drain hole by the battery, when it's clogged it will drip slow, pull ur rain tray and see if it's clogged, there are no heater hoses/coolant/fluid lines anywhere near the exhaust there at least on my ATW...they are more to the right of after the CTS.

Look for exhaust manifold as it is the place where exhaust gases exit your vehicle's engine. Also check each of the exhaust components. You can also do audible inspection. If you are hearing distinct noise coming from exhaust manifold it may be the area of leakage and you may be able to seal the leak simply by changing the gasket. Each joint in your exhaust system will have a gasket that can be replaced, but remember the bolts may be hard to remove as they are usually rusty.
If you discover your leak to be from a break or hole in your exhaust system it will be difficult to fix it on your own.Better is to visit car service center. Exhaust gases are not only bad for the environment, but they are bad for you! Inhaling vehicle exhaust fumes can make you uncomfortable in the short term but may lead to serious health problems and even death. If at any point you smell exhaust fumes in your vehicle, you can visit here.
Hey! The issue is not with exhaust gases but more so the water that is leaking on to the down pipe. I believe a few members narrowed it down and when it rains heavily I will check under the rain tray. Thank you for the info though!
