Possible Free Data for your Audi Connect

Freedom pop is giving free 2 gb data a month. I ordered a sim card for 20 bucks. If it doesn't work, well then who cares, it was 20 bucks. If it does, then woo hoo. I think they use t-mobile towers. Anyhow, I'll report back.

EDIT: IT DOES WORK AND I HAVE BEEN USING AUDI CONNECT FOR FREE. I have 2 sim cards and swap them out if I need to. Just enter the APN settings on the card it comes in (the foggmobile one) and choose the roaming option.

I use free data from Freedom Pop on my kid's cheap tablet, and I seem to recall being told that they use Sprint's network. Let's see if it works for AudiConnect.

On average how much data are people using? I understand it's a loaded question but I am coming from a '14 rs5 where I had T-Mobile 3G and it was unlimited so I never paid attention. I mostly just use google maps .

i read caching a new google maps for a drive 20 mins outside your regular drive takes 70 mb. it's the earth that eats a lot. searching for weather etc doesnt take much

Yup. Apparently I was avoiding any kind of contact with him. I didnt mention his name or quote his post. But he jumped in on my response to someone else and got personal. I lost it right there and told him how it should have been told. Like always, he reported it and I got kicked out for 3 days. Talk about hypocrisy!

Try sending me an instant chat message. Thats working. Maybe its a tapatalk thing since I am able to send and receive instant chat messages with members who have tapatalk. PM's are still blocked

No. Mine is a 2013, but I did get the Cellular radio updated because of the T-Mobile network downgrade. I should be able to use AT&T SIM cards now.

T Mobile shut down their 3G networks in a number of markets around the USA. Audi gave affected customers a free recall to upgrade the cellular radio so that I could continue to use my T Mobile plan. The new radio is compatible with AT&T

hmm. so I just had my car in at the dealer and told them my audi connnect didn't work. They didn't perform a radio update, said i had a faulty sim-card and got me a new one... I called audi-connect to active it and audi-connect told me that in Seattle, they can't activate me until end of July once the new towers are up.

Got the Freedompop card for my 2015 A3 (ATT network). Put it in, plugged in the APN and left the username and password blank. Turned on Data Roaming. I can see the Audiconnect menu items but can't connect. Tried removing the card, putting it back in both with the car running and not running. Nothing. Any suggestions?

i got it working. just use the APN on the card it comes in and it worked for 2 cards for me. free data is great! i referred some people and get like 500 mb free a month now. if anyone needs a referral (you get free data too), pm me

The username and password on mine weren't blank. There was something in the boxes, but I can't remember what it is. My wife has my Q5 right now so I can't check it.

I got the Freedom Pop also. Install the sim and it says Data Roaming Isnt available? Where do I go to input the APN in the setting? I look all over but still can't find it. Little help. Also I never update to 3G, does this still work or should I go to Audi first. Thanks in advance.

I still haven't gotten this thing to work and Freedompop customer service hasn't responded to me in the last 4 days. I'm about getting ready to dispute the charge on my credit card. I've got an 2015 A3 originally with ATT service. I plugged in this card, changed the APN and turned on Data Roaming. It shows a connection with several bars of service, but I can't send or receive any data. Every information request times out. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
