Who's Got The FUNK!?

Guys, I have searched endlessly to no avail; all I can get from the forum is the part number but no one has listed WHERE to buy it. I have called the dealer and they told me that this part is not available in the US and I will have to buy it online. I go online and cannot find it anywhere where I can actually purchase it.

You're probably saying "Oh, ECS has it idiot stop wasting everybody's time." Well, that's not true either. They do have a momentary FUNK switch just like what I'm looking for, except not. It's got BLACK trim on it, and I need chrome. I have never even seen a B7 A4 with black trim on the blank buttons but apparently they exist, and apparently that's the only color they offer for these stupid things. Wheeeeere can I buy a momentary FUNK switch with CHROME trim on it? Please tell me someone knows. I can find picture after picture online but never a link where I can purchase it. I think the part number is 8E0035775D5PR.

Just peel the little black bar off and stick a chrome one on. It's just a tiny thing that's glued on.

That site never works for me am I an idiot or something it looks like the domain is for sale. And I did not know it's only glued on, are you positive? If so I'll just use the chrome strip from the blank one.

Seen these before and they're awesome, but so overpriced. Do you know if they're all momentary switches? And what's with position 1 or position 2? Which one goes where the FUNK would?

Also wanted the green LED on the FUNK to flash with my radar detector
I'm very detail oriented and think this would just be an awesome feature to the car.

Im in the same boat looking to hardwire my radar detecter to a funk style button. They have momentary and on/off switches. Im not real sure but i believe for the mute switch you ll want the on/off style switch. For the different positions just a matter of preference where you want to reach for the button.

oemplus was the only company I know of that carried the button with the chrome strip but their site doesn't seem to be up anymore. Luckily mine are all black so I was able to use the ECS one.

No for mute you'll want momentary not on/off. And I understand it's the position but where does it start? It can't start on the first one, that's a corner piece

Lucky man. Wonder why some are chrome and some are black. Do you have the black edition with piano black trim and black headliner?

I have a titanium 07 and have chrome strips and my family has a 07 cab and 06 non s line avant and both have the black strips

Imo black vs chrome strips is a MY thing. My 05.5 has black.

I could understand the Titanium editions having it since black seems to be the theme on those lol but yeah the other seems random.

In German, funk means radio. So the purpose is that. Over here, ppl just like it and connect various things to it.

There was a good diy about it somewhere. It's been so long since I did I don't really remember :/ It wasn't hard though! Used a normal pj11 phone cable or whatever it's called to the detector, and there's 4 wires in it. One positive, one ground, one for the mute signal, and one for the led. The led one required a resistor in the wire if I recall right. Then you use a fuse tap in the box for power, and run the wires.

If you bought the momentary switch it won't work; you need an on/off switch.
