034 Motorsports Kinked Breather Hose Issue

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Wanted to know how other B5 S4 owners who have the 034 Motorsports breather kits are holding up? Here is an update on my kinked 034 breather hose. Well, lets just say my hose has a tear and rip now because of the odd bend. Oil leaking out on the back of my engine bay because of the rip/tear. And I only had the breather kit on my car for no more than 10 months. Here is a picture of the tear and rip caused by the hose hitting the y-pipe. Don't know if 034 is going to do anything about it though. I sent them an email about the problem. Don't know if I'll get a response from them or not. Thanks for stopping by.

yea, i'd have to say mine fits like shit overall too. no matter how you adjust all the hoses/clamps, i can get it to fit worth a dam. everything is just pushing/rubbing against each other, when i get time im going to just rebuild my factory one and put it back on.

I have that same awkward bend, however I don't have any tears yet. What did they say in the reply?

Mine is kinked like that too. They will probably try and send you another one and make you cover shipping. That's what they do when most of their products inevitably fail.

I have the same issue with that part of the breather hose kit. Its kinked a bit but I dont think I have tears (yet). It's on my list of things I want to find a way to correct. Best I can tell, they just designed that part of the breather poorly... which is a shame because the rest of the kit is way better than anything else I've seen.

I just installed mine and ended up trimming the portion that the check valve is in to relieve some of the stress in that bend

It's probably pretty easy to make your own hose for that section, I made my own breather hose assembly and it was so easy and significantly cheaper.

Is there a fix for it? Or are they just admitting it's faulty and replacing it?

They are just sending me a replacement hose and a check valve. No new fix or revision. I have posted on an old thread about the breather hose kink. But they never had a solution or revision for it. I'm currently using the latest OEM spider hose on my car. And keeping the 034 as a spare.

That's unfortunate - no fix. At least they are putting some skin in with a replacement - gives the impression they admit the hose isn't perfect.

My hose kinks as well - I brought it up earlier in the 034 thread. The assembly costs too much to keep it sitting as a spare - that's just silly.

If and when my hose tears like that, they will be getting a call. I was on the fence about this when I first decided to order it, but my old hose was junk. Should've went OEM. Whatever.

O34's breather kit is far better than OEM in almost every way. The biggest reason is that its silicone hose with hose clamps, not plastic and snap fittings which invariably become brittle and crack over time.

This is still a HUGE improvement over stock and gives you flexibility to add a catch can with ease. Just need to figure out a better way of routing that upper breather hose

If the hose is silicone I disagree as silicone is not the proper material for conveying oil, even vapor.
