    Cigarette Lighter Removal

Doing a refresh on my interior and purchased a new cig lighter assembly as the old one was beat up pretty good.

My question is on the install. I searched and have found limited and conflicting results on this. In order to install the piece do you need to remove the entire center console or can the item be removed some easier way? I'd obviously prefer to not have to remove the entire center console for the one piece.

I'm not sure if you can get to it without removing the console but on the 04 A4 it's a quick job (20 minutes)... I could be wrong since it's been awhile... But I believe a couple bolts under rear ashtray and under armrest. Along with by the e-break?

It is attached by 2 screws from the bottom so you will need to remove the console to get access.
