If you can get into boost (high fuel delivery), but have trouble at idle (low fuel delivery) - that sort of rules out the pump. It can perform well enough to run in boost, idle is no sweat.

yes walky! awesome you rhere, and ye i ruled that out by taking the fuel rail off anf turning the igniotion on and the 550cc injectors sprayed like no other pretty much enough to not make the car not turn over.

i then grabbed vagcom and with the key turned on the maf read 27gs and once i try and crank the car it reads 1.7 to around 2 max, i do have spark and fuel the car will turn over but will not start... any ideas?

When my crankshaft position sensor started to go, it would start on cold starts and engine would idle fine. But the minute the engine gets hot as i drive around the car would just shut off and would not start. Had to wait until the engine would cool down before it would start. My faulty crankshaft sensor would heatsoak and stopped working.

So tested crank position sensor and only got 465 ohms on the multimeter when touching prong 1 and 2 and nothing when touching 2 to 3 or 1 and 3... bad sensor? Since spec is 700 to 1000 ohms?
