    I haven't seen this product before: http://www.hpamotorsports.com/product_20tim.html

Looks like it is compatible with EA888 Gen 2 engines, but the price is pretty steep.

I've seen it before and can't tell from the description if the CNC component takes care of the runner flap issue or if an RFD tune is still required.

its been out for roughly 2 years now or more. in my opinion owning bothat and IE manifold, the IE manifold is far superior, yet both still don't have a tune for our cars that is required to delete the flap code. it can still be installed and ran on the motors but you will get a e code.

What made you switch out to the IE manifold?

HPA mentions you can "There is no RFD available for TSI EA888 engines, what do I do? HPA can provide proprietary software for your vehicle. Please contact [email protected] with your vehicle information and mod list for more information.

Some tuners are able to create a resistor for the run flap motor to eliminate the check engine light"

    Interesting. But pricey.

$2,500 for a part that won't give a significant gain when there is an IE part available for $900? That $1,400 can get you a new turbo if you know where to look.

^Yea, pretty expensive part. Saving for the EFR kit.

The part itself is $949. $2500 is with injectors and a tune, still a lot for that.

It will make little to no difference on the stock turbo, and you have to buy the software that goes with it. Unless you are going to run their k04 kit with the proper software, its a waste of money.

I'm running the IE intake, along with their Super Stock block assy and head assy. So ... pretty much the full IE motor. Still running the stock turbo right now ... with the stock turbo no difference. I'm planning on having a custom header built, and then running a big turbo ... still researching and planning. Hope to do something in the spring. Build quality is perfect ...

Unable to find anyone that offers a proper tune built specifically to adjust for the deletion of the runner flaps ... I ended up getting Eurodyne's Maestro7 software. I'm currently running their stage 2 tune. Previously I was running Unitronic Stage 2. With the Maestro software you are able to go in and disable any of the diagnostic codes. The specific fault codes I have disabled are listed below. Disabling them means that they are no longer able to turn on the check engine light. With a new motor it was critical for me to make sure if the check engine light came on I knew it was a problem and not an "expected issue". Plus I'm a bit anal in that I was unwilling to live with driving with a CEL on all of the time and trying to ignore it. I'm not sure if the ability to change these values is possible with VAGCOM.

Here are the Fault Codes I have changed from a value of 3 to 0.

P2004 Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 1 Stuck Open
P2006 Intake Manifold Runner Control Bank 1 Stuck Closed

If I can help in any other way, holler.

im about to pull the trigger on the HPA intake. i have a mate with an S3 running a GTX3071 and an IE intake manifold and he mentioned that there was no difference when running the IE intake and that id be better off with a HPA intake

much rather have the ie manifold, and no difference on a s3? I highly doubt that.

Hey, I'm sorry my bad. Just checked the messages. He said there is little benefit when running with the IE Intake. Personally I was about to buy it till he mentioned that also to me I don't plan on WMI so I think I might try the HPA Intake.
