    ECS Scan tool and VAGCOM

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    hi everyone,
what is the different between ECS scan tool and VAGCOM from rosstech? would ECS scanning tool capable of programming? if you are buying this scan programing tool as a normal DIY car repairer, which one would you buy. I am not an elite repairer like "oldGUY" or other members here. I am talking about entry level that can fix simple stuff not tunning engine nor timing belt change or taking the engine apart. do I need Ross-tech scan or ECS is enough?

The V-checker or the one by Foxwell? The Foxwell tool is very powerful, you can even do coding with it if you know what you're doing.

I have the Foxwell and I love it, if that is what you are talking about. Is it Rosstech? Absolutely not. You can do coding and adaptations with Foxwell and read codes from all modules and view live data etc. One big difference is the Foxwell is just a tool, meaning you have to figure out how to use it for coding, adaptation and other things. Unlike Rosstech which has a great website which walks you through procedures.

It does come with a manual that goes over all the features and how to use them.
