Im back!

So after being gone for awhile i stumbled upon a nogaro car in muchh much need of love,ironicly the car was at my tuner for my new daily a mk7 gti. Pulled into the driveway and saw this poor nogaro sitting in the woods almost and of course the first thing my stupid ass thinks is are you for sale. Long story short the gti didnt get a tune and that became a deposit on the car.
Plan is to pick it up by the end of april and start the process of restoring it. He says it has a bad abs and possiable 2 bad turbos but we will see either way im so excited to be back and will get many pictures as i pick it up and the process starts

so this is were the fun starts the car is finally home need to make room in the garage and get it on jack stands... all four corners of the car need to come out i wana check wheel bearings brakes etc
and pull the motor learn how to brake it down for rods and bearings then build it back up and do timing... this wont be a short process if i am lucky it will run next spring

oh ya crazy isnt it. today hopfully it will get into the garage and on jack stands get the front end off and a few other peices of the puzzle ready so i can get ready to pull the motor

Well got some cleaning done gave it a good wash. I will wash it a few times before i clay the car and buff it.

Started taking things apart slowly as i ran out of day light and the garage still isnt quite ready for it.

Ya not quite sure... The past two owners well neglected it.
As soon as the garage is clean the motor will be pulled and the cleaning will start valve covers etc will be sanded and painted.
All maint done blah blah but it will take time haha

i remember that thread his imola came out beautiful. im shooting for that but maybe not as fast like i said id like it to run late next spring early ish summer.
i know its gonna be a pain in the ass just looking at the engine bay..... but there are some nice parts on it lol almost new blizzacks or atleast the tread is great and they all hold air. has half of an 034 intake lmfao and st coilover witch still look to be in good shape.
the body harness looks to be repaired so i will have to look into that.. i cant find the electrical side of the abs module and the hardware side seems to have corrosion on it hopefully i can just clean that up and find an electrical side any help there with ideas would be awesome..
rotors need love they look to be nice aftermarket ones with not much use on them but have surface rust from sitting so will proboly be useless.. the whole suspension needs to come out cleaned painted calipers wheel bearings and control arms as im just gonna assume there shot unless by some miracle there not. itll take a while just on suspension but im glad it has decent coils ..
i dont even really wana go into the motor yet like slideways said the motor looked like it sat in a lake for a year even though the dude and his father swore up and down that it ran good last year.. we shall see about that i have to obtain a hoist and a motor stand then those can come out this car is gonna drive my ocd to the limit it already does just looking at it.. so anyways end bullshit for now..

the full white leather in the car is up for grabs its actually in good condition i will post pictures of that today. i have a pending sale on the samco dv's which are almost new looking. 034 bipipes with the two silicone hoses and a full autobahn hose kit if anyone is interested in those peices let me know! the plan is to run a 5862 so all the twin stuff has to go

Hahahaha I think the PO before I owned it did the boost gauge wiring. Glad you found the other half of the 034 intake, cuz it's almost useless without it. I put new control arms from FCP in it when I had the car, but who knows how long they've lasted. Glad you found a new set

Wonder why theres a brand new set in the car then ... I will have to inspect them.

so all quick question.... has anyone actually ever stripped one of these things down and ran a degreaser of any type on the inside floors? all the crap in the pictures is dirt and residue and id really like to make it look oem again before putting the carpet back down

I have cleaned the floor before, old fashioned way.. tooth brush, warm soapy water and elbow grease. Came out looking a million dollars.

did you rinse after or just let it dry ? thats what im trying to figure out i mean i might end up buying a new body harness anyways if i find one on the cheaper side but still lol...

plus if anyone knows what most of those wires do that would be great i wana delete all of the rear audio stuff and anything else not needed trying to shave all the un needed weight

I used shop towels and did little sections at a time. Soaked it up as i went.

rotors and pads all around
caliper hardware mounting etc
possiable caliper rebuild kit
front and rear wheel bearings
front and rear axles depending on condition
front control arms replaced already so inspection and depending on condition leave
rear control arms?
timing belt kit with gates belt
accessory tensioner
ac delete belt
fuel filter
fluids refresh
then start addressing the performace issues

Had alot of speedy dry and buckets on stand by haha.
Most of that is water from after clean up of the little i missed. Speedy dry then soap and water

Got down to the timing belt alot easier then i thought i would. Having the efk is really nice, not having to pull the damn clutch fan assembly. Now i have to figure out how to properly rewire it though.


Also picked up an engine hoise today now i just need a stand.
All stands are pretty much the same no?

Also looking for a set of st coil wrenches

Worked on this the other day at my buddys house
he ended up braking two turbo studs on the same turbo while doing downpipes so here we were trying to get the broken ones out without much luck
