    Hey guys,

The wife was talking to me about us lowering her car as she used to love my B8 when it was dropped. My S4 had been dropped on only H&R Sport springs along with all the Eurocode sways and other goodies for about 50k miles and never wrecked the stock struts. I am curious as to if anyone here runs H&R springs for the drop and if they are as reliable as they were on my B8. No issues with blown struts etc? The car is a lease and will go back in 2.5 year but the ride height on this A3 is crazy haah.

    Edit: Her car is a 2016 A3

People haven't been too happy with the H&R springs. Emanuelle Design has some springs that were just released that are getting great reviews so far.

the Emmanuele springs seem to be the way to go. As for how they will perform at 50k miles, i dont think ive seen anyone with 50k on their s3 at this point.

Its for a 2016 A3, she may be getting an S3 or RS3 when we are out of this lease.

The springs will be applicable to the A3 as well, as the suspension is largely the same besides the OEM springs and sway bars.

Interested in this but I understand the spring are coded for the weight of the car. This is true for the B8 and it appears that the A3 springs are also coded (dots). Mine has one pink and three white dots.

My question is whether these springs were test fitted on an A3 1.8 and how low is the drop? Vs. an S.
    Thanks

The A3 1.8 will be around 1.6" drop due to the lack of sport suspension. The resting height would be similar to what you'd find on the MK7.

What wheels and/or spacers are you running here? Is the car mag ride?

For those of you who are lowered, especially on the Emmanuele springs or H&R Sports, do you find that you have to slow down a LOT regularly for driveways/inclines, or use a board to get up on ramps, etc? My DSM, back in the day, was a bit too low. Looked great, but I had to slow down for EVERYTHING. Sort of annoying. Also, do you find that with a lower front end, that your parking sensors are more accurate seeing parking blocks?

No not really. Still plenty of clearance in the front

Never rubbed or scraped with our springs on 19" wheels. Driveways should be taken at an angle to allow for clearance, but this is good practice for any sports car.
