Butt comfort in my 2002 Allroad C5 2.7t

Today, I was sitting stationary in my 2002 Allroad for about ten minutes as I was early for an appointment when I suddenly realized that I felt I was sitting on a hard floor rather than a comfortable seat. I experimented with different seat settings to no avail and then moved across to the passenger's seat to make a comparison. The passengers seat was noticeably better and I came to the conclusion that the bottom cushion of the driver's seat must be compressed and out of shape.

I have just order a new cushion Part No 4Z7881362 which I will install when it arrives in a few weeks.

The site selling the genuine cushions had this description:

    Product Details
The seat padding provides you with a more comfortable ride with a thick layer of foam that is seated over the frame and beneath the cover. Over the years it is common for the seat padding to wear down and lose shape, due to the constant pressure it handles when a person is seated. Bring back the comfort of your interior seats and replace the worn padding.

I would be interested to hear from any members who have replaced the lower seat cushion.

You're in for a little adventure here. Start watching youtube videos about upholstery repair because you will need C clips and special tools to unfasten/refasten the leather. It is just easier to swap bottom park with passenger side, costs nothing and little work.
