hello, wasnt sure where to post this but i am working on a audi a4 1.8t that had a knock issue with the pistons. took it to the machine shop and said they could fix it if i get new pistons that are bigger. is there larger pistons out there that will work on a stock 1.8t block that wont mess with the compression too bad or anything? thanks

They mean over size in diameter. Probably because your cylinder walls are scored are are worn beyond the limits for the stock pistons.

Look into any after market pistons or OEM replacements that are .020 oversize.

yep, you could do a 1.9L with 83mm pistons. Are you wanting to build the engine or just keep it stock? If keep it stock you may be better off just buying a used short block off Craigslist or Ebay.
